i'm t.j. holmes. >> i'm reena ninan. we're going to get right to the breaking news. of tornados tore through northern illinois. look at the pictures. the tornados flattened some buildings, damaged others. we're talking about a rural area west of chicago, a tiny town named fairdale. every structure there has been damaged. alex perez is there. we are seeing some of the pictures. you are getting there not long ago. put it in to words for us. >> reporter: the devastation here, t.j., is amazing to see how quickly all of this happened here. authorities updated the media a couple of minutes ago here. they are confirming a lot of what we already knew. tornado, big storm moved through here about 7:15 thursday night and created all of this damage. they say they believe it sporadically sort of hopped and jumped around a 50-mile stretch of the area creating a lot of damage, particularly here in fairdale. there are 50 structures or so here and authorities believe all 50 homes were damaged in some way. a lot of them were flattened according to authorities. right now they are begin
