one is a hearing request on certification of tagalog language access ordinance. language access ordinance [speaker not understood] certify certain languages based on demand within our city departments to make sure that our city departments can provide linguistic capacity to meet the needs of various languages of residence here in the city. so, a hearing on that, hopefully we'll have that in april. then i have an in memoriam for a teacher at balboa high school who taught there over 15 years, [speaker not understood]. he has been really well liked teacher for a number of years. before he taught at balance bow he a high school he was an organizer at the hotel worker union, unite here at local 2. he is survived by his wife edith, son edward who attends [speaker not understood] middle school, and daughter edith, a sophomore who attends balboa high school. so, this is passing, it's really close to home to the school communities at both balboa high school and james den man and district 11 residents in particular. he was instrumental in producing the annual celebration o

our staff speak several languages including cantonese, mandarin, berns, tagalog and spanish. two are our staff are bilingual spanish speakers because a large number of our cases of non-english speakers are spanish speakers. for languages other than the ones i mentioned we will have interpretive services and we'll make sure we understand each other. our office is located at 25 van ness on the 7th floor very close to the corner of van ness and market. we are easily accessible by public transportation and receive walk in complaints between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.. we also receive compliant by telephone, e-mail, mail and fax. we have an answering service for after hours complaints. feel free to call us then. you can also file a complaint at the district police station and district personnel will forward us the information immediately. if you would like more information we have brochures here and i believe one of our investigators was supposed to be here. these volunteers speak italian, hindu, french, mandarin, portuguese, spanish, tagalog and vietnamese. they are the ones that really help. a couple things i want to point out, the main changes here. when you walked in here you bumped into a bunch of brochures. the real experts are not the brochures but the staff and volunteers who share their information and passion. we put the brochures against the wall and brought the volunteers and staff to the middle. when the people came and they needed to understand what was the heart and soul of the city to meet the geniuses, they found in front and middle. that was an important change. we don't always have a dj out here. many times we have volunteers and staff. another feature we are proud of is technology. we have touch screens. we have sf made products, we'll have more in the future as we continue. we have these the wonderful maps back here. the one of san francisco and it's neighborhood and the one of california. it amazing how many volunteers want to get in front of this map and discuss what they remember about san francisco. we encourage y
