mount tam will be back after the break. of a three-nation african tour. he visited the family of nelson mandela. madela has been hospitalized in recent weeks. today, south african leader jacob zuma and his wife greeted the president and first lady michelle during a ceremony in pretoria. the focus of the president's visit is bolstering u-s investment opportunities. he's also there to address issues such as food safety and health as well as promote democracy. mr. obama's visit started in senegal, and he'll head to tanzania next week. it comes amid china's quest to replace the u-s as africa's largest trading partner. the obamas are also there meeting with ailing former mandela's family. tomorrow, president obama will see the site where mandela spent 27 years in prison for opposing south african apartheid. 94-year-old mandela remains in critical condition with a recurring lung infection. n-s-a leaker edward snowden continues to elude u-s authorities. six days ago he left a hong kong hotel, then vanished at an airport in moscow.
