good morning. >> reporter: good morning, tam and matt. that's right, 42 injured including the train's operator. of the four people with the most serious injuries, the four people that required trauma center evaluation, three of them were taken here to penn presbyterian. that fourth person was taken to lankenau. let's go to video from around 4:45 this morning. we saw representative in ast wan presbyterian's emergency room with a man who had just been released from the hospital. so far we haven't been told the nature of the injuries for everyone involved but septa says none of the injuries are life-threatening. as jeanette mentioned, this happened shortly after a norristown high speedline train hit an unoccupied parked train at the station platform at 69th street terminal. septa says all of the injured are from the train that was inbound to 69th street station. septa police and upper darby police, fir who responded, couny resources were called in. the number of potentially injured required mass casualty protocols to be implemented. the inju

good morning, jeanette. >> reporter: good morning, tam. as you mentioned, three people injured, two of them residents, one of them a firefighter. meanwhile here at the scene, about 50 people have been displaced. we saw people taking what they could in their cars and going to their friends' or relatives' homes. take a live look behind me. firefighters are still on scene but they're packing things up. they should be leaving momentarilily. i also want to show you this apartment union, unit, the second floor where we're told the fire started early this morning. viewer video shows the blaze really spreading rather quickly and authorities say they got the call around 12:30 this morning about a fire at the canterbury court apartment complex on academy road near morell avenue here in northeast philadelphia. firefighters arrived in about five minutes and the fire was showing from a second floor unit that i just showed you. the entire building was evacuated due to fire and heavy smoke. it took about an hour to get the blaze completely under control.

. >> reporter: good morning, tam, calls to take down the statue have been intensifying throughout the week. we've seen the statue vandalized once before, take a live look behind me, it was covered by a resident who came over overnight, but the vandalism happened in the last few hours with several witnesses around and this is what authorities were hoping to prevent. after paint ball stains were removed and the egg residue power washed off, this morning another act of vandalism that will be harder to clean, the words "black power" were spray painted in white across the front of the frank rizzo stamp in city hall after 11:00 p.m. the woman identified as debby covered up the statue not long after it happened. >> living in the city of philadelphia my whole life, i just was upset that somebody would take the time out to do hatred like they did to a statue to a man who is not been alive for 20 years that did a lot of compassionate things for a lot of people. >> reporter: the third act of vandalism comes amid nationwide calls to take down statues to glorify racism. former law and order mayor

"action news" reporter katherine scott is live on the 700 block of king's lane with the story. katherine. >> reporter: matt, we're hearing that an elderly couple died in this fire, a couple in their 80's. fire officials say they found them. [inaudible] the fire broke out in bensalem putting out any remaining hot spots. the fire broke out shortly before 12:30 this morning on the 700 block of king's lane. police and fire crews soon arrived units from bensalem and bristol responded. firefighters were left with heavy flames and initially had to attack the flames from the exterior of the home. the smoke was thick and at one point fire officials say the second floor of the home started to partially collapse. it took about pan hour an hour to get the fire under control. the couple was found on the first floor. they had alrea

good morning, jeanette. >> reporter: good morning, tam.you mentioned there, this young man was just pumping gas and now he is in the fight of his life after being shot multiple times. take a look at this video here of the scene. police arrived to find the driver's side door still ajar and two gunshots in the front windshield with the back window completely shattered. police on scene say the barrage of gunshots began around midnight at the sunoco a plus at the intersection of edgemont avenue and east 22nd street in chester. the man in his 20's was that rushed to crozer-chester hospital in very critical condition. investigators spoke with witnesses at the scene and were also checking to see if any surveillance camera captured the moment those gunshots went off. no word this morning on a suspect or a motive but the investigation continues. we'll let you know as soon as we get an update on this man's condition as well as any additional details on this shooter here. reporting live in chester, jeanette reyes channel6 "action news." alicia. >> al

. >> reporter: good morning, tam, the two victims were a couple they lived at the apartment together they were found dead late last night. police have since we last spoke wrapped the scene up, the crime scene unit and detectives from the homicide division were here throughout the night gathering evidence. this happened in the first floor apartment 1300 block of federal street in south philadelphia. a 23-year-old woman and her 50-year-old boyfriend were found lying on the floor of separate rooms in the apartment. both were pronounced dead shortly before midnight. there were no signs of forced entry, but police say the place was ransacked. both bodies were bleeding and had facial bruising and something was found around the victims' necks. >> the two people were found by a family member who lives on the second floor apartment. when the family member went downstairs to check on them, they discovered the bodies laying on the floor in separate rooms and called police. >> reporter: so far there's no word of any suspects in the case, we're live in south philadelphia, katherine scott channel
