how much rain we've measured, over the past 24 hours it's been significant for the north bay, mount tam measuring over 2 inches of rainfall, and in the santa cruz mountains at scots creek it was an inch and three quarters. marin also had almost 2 inches of rainfall and berkeley had almost an inch. now it's still coming down, we have a potential of adding on top of what we've already measured, with most of the valleys getting anywhere from about a tenth to a half inch of rainfall, three quarters of an inch of rain for napa, and in half moon bay over an inch of rainfall. we can see it's still raining in that area, as well as other spots around the bay. it's kind of coming in waves. it's sweeping through, it clears up and then another wave comes in. we're looking for the potential of spots like san mateo, redwood city, up and down the peninsula we could see some really gusty, heavy rain and also some small hail. it's been raining for a while in richmond, so i do expect that to have a bigger impact for people who are heading out the door early in the morning. and we're also going to see thi

i'm standing here with a live look at mount tam their mount tam cam behind me here. you can see, you know, we had some of the wind blowing some of the rain. >> and that's happening up at elevation where some of that rain is actually kind of blowing sideways. it is a very kind of squirrelly day out there where one 0nd it looks like, hey, we're okay. the next second, you've got a crazy thunderstorm rolling. in fact, the bay itself has been under a special maureen statement as the last cell just rolled through and brought through rain and wind and even hail with it. and you can see some of that wind whipping as we take a look at the flag there on the bridge with the roads. you're looking okay. but you just got to be careful because things change quickly on a day like today. so you want to make sure you're staying weather aware tonight. we're going to see those unsettled conditions remain tomorrow is when we'll finally get some clearing after the early morning hours. we're looking pretty good in friday is also looking really good. this is how much rain we've got left in

this is your view from mount tam looking down at san francisco.ee suture right down there. >> little see hour compared to all the hills around the bay area. now we are looking at the snow up in the sierra nevada in kerr recently impressive numbers here. now we have had melt off at or lower elevations, but the upper elevations of the sierra continuing to pack it on now, southern sierra 260% of average snowpack central sierra 223% of average. and even the northern sierra nearly double what we normally see at this time of year typically are snowpack will peak at april first. and we've got another big system next week that will add additional snow pack higher up and a lot more rainfall to the bay area to. we're looking at a clear, dry day for both today. so if you need to be heading up to the sierra today is a good chance to get up there. you got a window ahead of next week's rainfall that returns. we do have rain showers still hanging on for southern california. those are starting to diminish, though. flooding risk will diminish for the bay area toda

if you can believe that a very wet flow coming off the pacific, more than 4 inches of rain mount tam can feel over to a quarter over an inch and half moon bay over an inch and a half. a redwood city, lesser amounts in the rain shower is like san jose. but stay you get the idea. we've had a ton of rain already and more to come. how about this? we're now at 149% of normal in san francisco over 27 inches of rain and counting. all those areas shaded in gold. those are above normal for the entire year. and we've got a lot more rain on the way you see right here 2 overnight tonight really start to ramp up as we head toward midnight. then after about 02:00am. that's when the brunt of the system comes on shore. very heavy rainfall through tomorrow morning. the commute going to be a mess. i think a lot flooding waters out there on the roadways, probably some debris to from trees blowing by then about 08:00am or so. we get to the back side of that system and it starts to settle down with this. a big storm coming late tonight tomorrow morning. >> and now kron 4 sports. >> the rich are getting r
