the view from mount tam kind of showing a little bit of that marine layer out there and certainly athe golden gate bridge as well. the marathon looking good for this weekend. i have to say saturday and sunday should be about 70 degrees. maybe 71. 72 on saturday and sunday between the 2 limited fog. as we start the morning, as i mentioned, that marine layer compressing a little bit of breeze in the afternoon, but mostly sunny skies. i think that will be great for you. all of this has to do with the fact that our high pressure is moving in. we've been doing the stance. it moved away. now it's going to retrograde and move a little bit closer to us. and when that happens, we do get that compressed marine layer and allow some of those temperatures to warm up rather quickly. we're starting to see that already today and look at those clouds kind of pulled away from the coast there. so still a cool half moon bay, 56 degrees. but 89 in morgan hill, 87 in fremont. 94 in livermore. 92 in concord, dublin, in pittsburgh. you can see 92 also up in santa rosa about 65 in downtown san francisco. so

looking at this lovely view right here from the top of mount tam taking this one for a second. just a gorgeous way to start your morning. you can see out there that nice glow above the cloud cover that much of the rest of us are in across the bay area. we're going to tap into all that sign and those clear skies later on today. once we get rid of some of that low cloud cover at the surface. now, many ways a repeat of yesterday, it's going to be a little calmer at the coast. little clear out that direction, too. temperatures elsewhere across the bay area. very similar to where we were yesterday. the high pressure ridge still spinning off across the nation's midsection, resulting in heat elsewhere across the country. well, we're still tapping into some ocean cool. they're back here in the bay area. no advisories for us, although there's heat advisories for southern california, then a wide swath of them across the nation's midsection. as far as today's temperatures go already mentioned, we're repeating a lot of factors here that we saw yesterday. it's 60's at the coastline. little

we got some clearing skies from mount tam rate here. just the thinnest bail pushing right through the golden gate right now, a sign that at least there is some ocean cool there that's making its way on into the bay that has kept a school in san francisco in the 50's. well, those of us further inland, you're already rising into the 80's just before 11:00am. now the high pressure ridge is in place. the heat wave is in effect, but it intensifies this weekend with the high pressure ridge building directly overhead friday, saturday and sunday will be our very hottest days of your forecast. this is when we're going to be looking at those triple digits and in some cases, some record breaking numbers the hottest of the year so far. high moves out gradually into next week. this will allow temperatures to subside a little bit, but we'll still be in the 90's inland, at least not a scorching hot as the weekend. 60's for your highs in sf. that number is not going anywhere at the coastline. so if you need an escape and some outdoor time coastal areas

the marine layer, as you can see from that view from mount tam certainly made it in. now, one thing that we don't have on our side, we're going an air quality advisory for this afternoon and this evening. >> and you can see a little bit of a haze there. we had a little bit of that yesterday, too. we're expecting some moderate air quality, so not expecting anything too bad. but the reason for all of this is because of fires to the north of us up in oregon. so this is where we're at right now. you can see it, you know, many of us in the green. so in the good air quality, but a little bit of it slipping into the yellow there as we get into parts of the east bay. so here's the fires called the flat fire up in oregon. in the problem is it is pressing smoke to the south. all right. so that is why over the next couple of days we've got to keep an eye that. of course, how this goes depends on whether or not they're able to get containment on that fire. wanted to show you a visible satellite. it's interesting because we see clouds on this, but we can also see this fire right h
