mark tamayo joins us now. >> we're going the other direction especially over the weekend.eady forright around the bay. still hot temperatures inland. right now i can show you this. the key difference today at this hour compared to yesterday we had the fog making a come back down towards san francisco and already pushing right on through the golden gate bridge. this was the scene today. you can see that shallow marine layer cooling off san francisco and even areas right around the immediate bay. that marine layer will deepen. highs from today triple digit heat for the second day in a row. oakland topped out 81. and san francisco 74 degrees. we do have this tonight. coastal fog. cool things on average 3 to 6 degrees from today's highs and major cooling expected this weekend. for the coast watch out could be coming down to a quarter of a mile. most of the region started out in the 50s. fremont 58 and san jose 59. for tomorrow the warmest locations right around the low to mid 90s. here's the change we have been talking about. you can see the big trend. cooling trend for friday

ktvu meteorologist mark tamayo is here with just how much rain fell in the bayer today. >> ken, this was a fairly weak system moving across the bay area, but measurable. our radar over the past 12 hours you can see the cells moving across the region. lots of trace amounts out there, but some measurable amounts as well from mill valley and point reyes and santa rosa and sfo just .01" at the .01. >> there is not a lot of coverage, you can see a few showers closing in on merced. still not a lot of activity out there and as a result we'll continue to scale back the shower activity and pretty much already moving out of the first thing tomorrow morning, partly cloudy skies, some coastal fogging overnight lows, some areas starting ot the day in 509s. napa, san josi, around 54 degrees. here you can pick out the satellite and radar with that frontal system moving across northern and central california and with its departure our weather will be changing and warming up. i will let you know when 90- degree weather returns to the bay area forecast. >>> it's one of the san francisco's most popular
