meteorologist mark tamayo with a look at today's temperatures. >> this year, if you look at a column of smoke go up, it reaches a certain level, a couple thousand feet and spreads out and all of that particulate matter is trapped. upper 40s for napa and santa rosa, 49, san jose lower 50s and livermore in the upper 40s, 48 degrees. a few rain showers and, in fact, quite a bit down towards southern california. a few high clouds moving into northern california and false echo return on the radar. but a rain-free forecast forever us and the stormtracker heads way up to the north and as a result, when whenever you get a stable weather pattern, fog is a concern. we have some real dense fog forming and that was the case this morning and we should have a repeat performance for the central and southern san joaquin valley. as a result another dense fog advisory begins at midnight, lasting until 11:00 monday morning. visibilities could be around 500 feet or approaching zero visibility. so that will be an area of concern heading into monday morning. in the bay area, around delta, once again, star

we turn now to mark tamayo for a look at what we should expect. >> they are all connected.he winds in fact, a big issue. you take a look at impressive gusts throughout the day. 3:00 this morning a gust of up to 72 miles per hour. the most recent observation that's 4:00 back down to 32. this trend will continue with decreasing winds. now as a result, temperatures in fact, cooling off rapidly. here's a look at the latest numbers. at this 5:00 hour, santa rosa 57, santa rosa 58 degrees. san jose mid-50s. so here we go with the forecast headlines for tonight. clearing skies, cooling off rapidly, we have a freeze warning to talk about first thing tomorrow morning. and mostly sunny skies, still right on through the weekend we will hold on to this dry weather pattern. you can see a few high clouds clipping the northern portions of the state. northern california but still high pressure in command of our weather. there's some activity here out in the pacific. but most of the activity will be heading to the north. we will track a few changes as we head into the last week of 2011. her

. >>> meteorologist mark tamayo is here with more. >> hi. the wind has peaks. we still have some wind conditions out there. most areas with gusts changing from about 40 to 50 miles per hour but look at mount diablo. a gust to 77 miles per hour during the 4:00 hour this morning. you can't see with all the wind, though, clearing skies and excellent visibility with the frog-free condition. as far as the current conditions, here is a look at the current gusts in san jose, right now at the airport, gusts at 38 miles per hour. oaks land, 25. still pretty windy out towards the delta and fair field. wind advisory in place until 6:00. warnings no longer in place across the lower elevations. the higher terrain, downgrade add bit to a wind advisory but still in place in the north bay hills and east bay hills. in fact. it has been extended until 10:00 tomorrow morning. it was supposed to expire at 6:00. but, still, a wind advisory in place until 10:00 for the north bay hills and east bay hills. the buffets could be approaching 50 miles per hour. coming up, i'll break down

let's talk more about that fog now with mark tamayo. what are we looking at right now. >> we're taking a look out toward the bay. looks like we have clear skies, we have high clouds with a dense fog kind of out of the picture for right now. that could be changing, in fact, that could be changing later on tonight as we head into early friday morning. i have been tracking rain showers up to our north up along if north coast to eureka. we do have mostly cloudy skies and the fog widening it's way around the bay. that will impact our visibility first thing tomorrow morning across a good portion of the region. as far as overnight lows, most areas back down, sub friezing temperatures. the coolest locations back down into lower 40s out toward fairfield and vallejo. san jose 28, oakland in the upper 40s. finally a few changes out in the pacific but still no significant rainfall in the forecast. for tonight we're going to hold on to that mostly cloudy weather plan and then as we do take this into your friday, there's a very weak system moving int
