we heard about the assets he is bringing to tampa. can you give us examples of what you are doing in charlotte to help prepare the city. are you bringing in taxicabs from other cities or other employees from other areas? >> good question. we will use about 250 buss to bring our delegates in and out of the central district for the convention activities. some of those buses will be local and some will be coming from other places. we went and got dispensation from the general assembly to allow us to use black cars and that sort of thing from other states to come in and be part of helping us with that piece of logisti logistics. we have a lot of assets already in charlotte and we are looking forward to the ability to show those assets off. >> mayor fox, you spoke eloquently about your downtown and the light rail. your predecessor and republican did the same. the mayor buck horn said showing off tampa's urban renaissance may get republicans excited about the cities. nevertheless this whole thing still is viewed as a largely partisan issue.

but specifically in tampa. and, i mean, i think tampa is leading the way out of recession in florida. it's being driive by young professionals who enjoy the urban environment. we triple the level of attendance in the downtown parks in the last year because we drive so much activity down there. once people expose to the water front, they walk away like the a lot of delegations will walk away from tampa saying wow, i never knew the city existed. it's a cool place. >> we know what drives employment in charlotte downtown bank of america. other financial services. what do the young professionals in tampa do? >> well, it's diverse economy. part of is technology driven. part of it is back office wall street operations. >> who is the largest employer? >> it depends. in downtown tampa it's probably one of the banks. we're still regional headquarter for a lot of banking institutions. but we have a big technology sector. we have university south florida. which drives a lot of technology. incubation with the cancer center.

tampa has listed four super bowls. we do this as well as anybody in the country listing in major international event like republican and democratic convention is a different challenge for us as it is for the mayor so logistics will be different if it were chicago or new york or l.a.. we can't absorb all that the way the big cities can come as no the committee has over 400 buses that will move the delegation back and forth. tampa is spread out more than charlotte. >> that's the nature of florida but what people want to stay at the beaches because the one to bring the families and the edification of of this and so literally almost from orlando to sarasota the delegations will be. >> of our is orlando? >> it's 90 miles. is that sarasota is about the san. they will be coming downtown every day. most of the delegates that they are not in downtown tampa will be at the beach in pinellas county which is about the 25 minute bus ride. one of the surprise is a kiss or not the catches used to get the federal funding they need more
