you are looking at an image of the tampa bay times forum, brought to you live from tampa, florida. continuing is ken jones, president of the two dozen 12 tampa bay host committee -- 2012 tampa bay host committee. how is this tropical storm affected you? guest: it is not affecting it as much as we thought. we started seeing a hurricane, then a tropical storm, and it has been a deterioration from a hurricane, and maybe it will be a bad rain storm. we looked at a lot of different contingency plans for this event. we knew we were having an event in august and there might be a possibility of inclement weather. we did an abbreviated day to day. we will make up all the time we lost today. our governor is traveling around the state. other governors have been activated, and they will make sure their citizens are ok and make sure everybody comes out ok. host: tell us about security, how you are dealing with protesters. guest: the infrastructure for convention is phenomenal. you have a national security designation, done by the department of homeland security. you have local law enforcement,

and if you take a look at tampa, tampa is now under a tropical storm warning. we can expect to see that probably change once the system gets into the gulf and over the warmer waters. things will really pick up as the storm will have a chance to intensify more. some of the outer bands are reaching the florida keys right now. and the worst weather for the keys and the south of florida will be over in about five hours or so before they'll start to feel some of the greater effects of that but the deacon -- deep confection is north and east of the center. here's a look at our spaghetti models. and it has shifted a little more towards the left and so that has it with the models taking it closer to louisiana. a couple of the models under disagreement. so we'll watch that closely there's a large a uncertainty where it will reach land for it will reach land. here are some one of the things that will happen with the storm. we're talking about category 1 hurricane by tonight and isolated tornadoes across florida today. and the location and timing still a big question mark

not much of a factor for tampa. tampa reports like rain.it will get showers and thundershowers tomorrow. is it continues to head toward the gulf it picks up steam it should be hurricane within 48 hours and moving pretty good, it will land between pensacola and new orleans sometime tuesday night wednesday morning. it will roar with winds up to 100 mi. per hour. latest on the radar shows the winds and wind over southern florida. right now in bay area mostly sunny skies temperatures and upper 60s and low seventies. we look for the isaac path to shift towards new orleans. a model week for the bay area. high clouds over the california oregon border and will get warmer tomorrow. these numbers which were down by 5-10 degrees will warm up about 5-10 degrees tomorrow. if you're going out of the bay area thunderstorms in new york and chicago. the five day forecast made '80s for the bay area will be in the mid-70s that the coast and '60s. sunny in the afternoon. that helps true through next weekend. weather looks good. >>> just ahead 49ers broncos pre

let's go to tampa. tropical storm isaac is delaying the start of the republican national convention with high winds and heavy rains in the forecast. the party chiefs did not take any chances, so they postponed the first day of events. and joining me now, tampa mayerbock bob buckhorn. i'm sure your heard your state's gsker talking about the fact it appears tampa is going to dodge the worst part of this storm. what's the status as far as you know? do you have that information and concur with that? >> alex, absolutely i do. as a matter of fact, the governor was about three miles away from where i am right now. it appears as though the track is moving to the west. tomorrow, we're going to get heavy winds, intense rains. i don't anticipate there will be a tidal surge or coastal flooding in the tampa area. there are low-lying areas that are normally prone to flooding anyway, and particularly with the ground saturated that would occur, but that would occur in a heavy storm anyway. the convention proceedings al
