i'm tamron hall and this is "newsnation."aking up president obama's formal request for the use of military force in the fight against isis. now under way a house foreign affairs committee on isis that was planned before the president delivered his proposal. now if approved the president's plan would limit the military operation to three years and prohibit quote, enduring offensive ground forces. now some democrats argue the proposal is too broad and could lead to another drawn-out military conflict. >> there is no limitation, no statute of limitations on the original 2001 ought sairks and i think that's a key problem. the other major issue is the language pertaining to ground troops very broad and ambiguous. none of us knows what enduring combat offensive operations mean and deliberately drafted i think to be ambiguous. >> and some republicans are skeptical the proposal does not go far enough. >> the first thing that i want to hear from president obama is i want to make sure he's committed to whatever he sets out as the goal.
