cindy served as emcee for the third annual john tanner memorial 5-k. the event raised money and awareness for batten disease. john tanner was a longtime employee at russell's garden center who unexpectedly passed away while running the new york city half marathon this past spring. he had been deeply involved in fundraising for the disease. cindy, it looks like a lot of fun. cindy: a very special cause too. raising awareness of batten disease. a lot of people have no idea what it is. a couple years ago i had no idea what it was ear. a great event. the weather held out as well. it was uncertain how the weekend would turn out but we had a decent day yesterday. the winds are finally coming down as well slowly. still seeing sustained winds 10 to near 20 miles per hour along the coastline. gradually the winds will continue to subside. we'll warm up the ems by wednesday back up to around 70 degrees if you can believe it. our next chance for rain isn't coming in until friday but it is is still flooding rain right now. down through if carolinas particularly coa
