rescue crews pulled out several people trapped in storm wreckage in tappahannock. paramedics took more than 20 people to nearby hospitals, according to police. several homes have been destroyed and many roads are still closed this morning. several churches opened their doors as shelters. most schools in that area are closed this morning. and look at this video from near durham, north carolina. this community was also hit hard during the same line of storms that damaged virginia. at least six homes are gone. one man says he was out buying dog treats. his house was damaged so badly, he says he's sure he would have died if he was there. there were no reports of any serious injuries there. here's a live look at chopper 10 in the air, on the way to the storm damage in waverly. we'll check in with pilot steve decker in just a few moments as soon as he's above the scene. keep it right here.
