tara moriarty joins us from napa with more on the story. good morning, tara. >> reporter: good morning. the man police shot and killed yesterday worked as a psychiatric nurse for years in bay area hospitals. neighbors say richard pocha lived off of meek avenue and peak street. now family members called authorities for help when he started acting suicidal officers arrived around 3:00 in the afternoon. they spoke to him by phone first and convinced him to come talk to them. >> there was a confrontation down the street. one officer deployed a taser an the other deployed his firearm. >> reporter: police will not say if the man was armed. but he kept many pistols inside of his house arbitroned in the -- house and trained in the marital arts. he was apparently disupon dent and troubled all day long yesterday. the four officers on scene yesterday is on paid administrative leave. we're live in napa i'm tara moriarty. >>> this morning police in redwood city are investigating a suspected homicide. officers found a man's body lying in an ally on madiso

tara moriarty talked to police this morning. she joins us live. >> reporter: we just spoke to napa police moments ago. they are remaining tight lipped about this police. now if you take a look over my shoulder you can see there is a patrol car situated in front of the victims house. the front door is blown wide open. richard a psychiatric nurse kept a bundle of pistols inside of his house. this is where officers were called yesterday afternoon around 3:00. the victims wife called 911 saying that poncio was suicidal and making threats. they spoke to him by phone. they convinced him to come outside and talk to him that's when things turned ugly. >> there was a confrontation just down the street involving the suspect. >> reporter: neighbors say poncihio has been on disabilitied for months. he is apparently stressed and acting very strangely yesterday. according to the napa valley register one neighbor said he was a character and he wouldn't be surprised if this was suicide by cop. there was really no reason to shoot him. this whole

tara moriarty is in berkeley with more on where police think this suspect is heading. good morning. >> reporter: good measuring. a state-wide man hunt is under way for a berkeley man that sexually assaulted a young girl. we're here off of evelyn avenue where detectives believe 27- year-old omar sosa climbed through an unlocked bedroom window and attacked the girl. >> at this point we believe he has fled the bay area and heading south toward mexico if a-- south toward mexico to avoid an arrest. >> reporter: he may be driving a gray 1997 ford ranger pickup truck. it is a double cab with a white camper shell. officials do not have a license plate number at this time. police did say the victim was able to give an identity of the victim rather quickly and they are calling her efforts to further this investigation along heroic. >>> time now 6:32. a va lay moe han is -- a vallejo man is in critical condition after being shot at a comedy club. this happened on texas street just after midnight. the 29-year-old victim was shot once in the abdomen area but is expected to survive.
