ktvu's tara moriarty's been out there all morning. she's back now. people waking up with no water, tara, what's the latest? >> reporter: about 100 people are without water and they haven't had any water for the past eight hours. that's because of a pipe that burst behind me here. they think it's located right underneath that section where the guy is jackhammering. it's located right under that portion of the sidewalk next to that big hole. east bay mud says that that hole was actually created when water burst through the ground. now crews tell us here that this is an eight inch cast iron pipe that ruptured and they will be removing that section of damaged line and replacing it so they can turn the water back on. the water flooded a nearby house last night and the homeowner had just moved here from seattle. all of his moving boxes are now water logged. >> fire department was helpful. we built a makeshift barrier in the back to try to keep the water from coming in the back door from the garage. >> reporter: workers to not have a time line on when the pi
