tara moriarty is just getting there at the scene with a look at what is happening. >> reporter: yeah we are here in west portal at a restaurant called the squat and gobble. we just arrived on scene. this just went to a three alarm fire. this is on the main drag here of west portal. it is right across the street from the west portal muni station. so the service we're not sure exactly if it's going to be cut off. we have noticed a couple of the lines going through. but we understand that traffic could definitely be impacted at least for the next 30 minutes or so. now when we first arrived there was a heavy amount of smoke coming from that awning right above the squat and gobble. you can still see they have their hoses and water being sprayed on it. it looks like they have the situation under control now. they are actually going in next door. there is a business located next door where the fire crews are gaining access. they are probably going to be breaking down some wall there is to let the fire breathe. you can see there is smoke coming from the windows of that build
