tara moriarty joins us live to explain why investigators are trying to figure out what happened in the moments before the lan landed on the freeway- - man landed on the freeway. tara? >> reporter: police say the man jumped from the freeway overpasses but the reasons behind why he jumped could possibly determine if this will be classified as a suicide or homicide. it snarled traffic for three hours and a gruesome scene on 880 southbound after a man fell from the industrial parkway overpass. authorities say he jumped but they are not yet sure why. >> if he jumped because he was trying to evade someone who was trying to harm him, then you could have a potential homicide charge. >> reporter: the man was immediately struck by a big rig and killed. officers say they have a witness. they are looking into whether some sort of fight took place before the incident. >> he was unsure. there might have been some kind of verbal confrontation with somebody. i don't know, which resulted in this gentleman going over the overcrossing. that's still under investigation. >> reporter: police have not reveal

ktvu's tara moriarty joins us live to explain. good afternoon, tara. >> reporter: well, good afternoon. we've learned that the missing boat captain has a $75,000 warrant for his arrest out of santa clara county and if you take a look behind me here, you can see that there is a bulldozer and the ship is still there. it has run amuck. we're here on ocean beaches. crews will wait for high tide to pull it to shore. the captain is timothy lybrand shown here who failed to make a court appearance stemming from a 2010 arrest on a drug charge. that's according to the santa clara county district attorney. court documents reveal he has a string of offenses for drug possession, evading a peace officer, reckless drives and other offenses dating back to 1994. police say he could have abandoned his fishing boat. the coast guard called off the search for him because of the boat's proximity to shore. the fact that he made a call from the vessel indicating he had a lifeguard and was gonna swim ashore. the coast guard is here to make sure no diesel l

tara moriarty is live in antioch. you just received new information about this latest shootings. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. a man was on his way back from the store when he had an argument with someone on the sidewalk and he got shot. police have just concluded their on scene investigation. the latest shooting happened around 12:30 this morning. officers say the victim was shot three or four times. he was buying beer down the street on his way home to his wife when he was shot at least three times in the chest, arm, and stomach. yesterday afternoon a woman on sycamore street was shot in the leg and she believes she may have gotten into an argument with someone. at 4:00 yesterday morning a 22- year-old woman was crazed in the deck. less say she was the unintended target and six people. police believe that could be gang related. in all of these cases the victim has not survived. they are still trying to piece together exactly what happened. the man involved in this incident, he is currently under going surgery. so when he comes to, obviously officers will be interview

tara moriarty is joining us live from the pleasant hill b.a.r.t. station. wrong and how did they fix it. good morning, tara? >> reporter: well, good morning. good news if you are headed out the door and you are wondering if i should take b.a.r.t. the answer answer is yes. there's no delays for ride erles. crews made overnight repairs. they will be doing an investigation to figure out how a train lost part of the wheel. the chaos unfolded after 5:00 last night. a piece of a train wheel was found on a damaged track north of the pleasant hill b.a.r.t. station. b.a.r.t. ordered a complete shut down of service between walnut creek and concord. >> this is all because of a damaged rail and damaged trackway. we had a train that somehow got out of service and caused some sort of damage to both the trackway and the third rail at an inner locking. it was at a place called a crossover which impacts both tracks. >> reporter: it took more than an hour for limited service to be restored in the commute direction heading east. many people were forced off the trains. bart pro

ktvu's tara moriarty at the civic center bart station to tell us what many people hope will be a solution to a smelly problem. good morning, tara. >> reporter: good morning. if you take a look behind me this man just showed up here and he is actually sweeping the steps and trying to get things clean. this is what bart has embraced for next week as well as this week. we could say we know this isn't something that you want to think about during breakfast, but if you are here in person it's worse. we are not going to lie. it stinks here. you can smell urine. there is feces close to where we're standing. bart says it's trying to clean things up. the situation apparently just has not gotten any better since two years ago. bart says that starting monday it is launching a three-person brightening crew. they will work on spiffing up the entrances and exits from downtown san francisco stations. commuters say it's about time. you may remember two years ago "the chronicle" did a story on how one of the escalators here was broken because it was clogged with human feces. >> at the bottom of the escala

ktvu's tara moriarty is outside williams' home in tiburon where neighbors simply knew him as the man next door. tara. >>reporter: flowers, cards and candles continue to grow in front of the gate here in front of robin williams' home. you can see behind me too there are a lot of media here from all over the united states. fans, of course, are shocked by robin williams' death and so are his neighbors. robin williams was last seen alive at 10:00 sunday night at his home near tiburon. sheriff's deputies found him monday morning unconscious after a 911 call. he was pronounced dead around noon. the coroner's division says it suspects his death to be a suicide due to as fixia. sources tell ktvu the 63-year- old actor hanged himself. over the years williams did battle substance abuse and his agent says he suffered from depression. it's a picture of a man difficult to take in, especially neighbors who saw him routinely. >> he's almost like a family member, you know, that died. very sad. >> he was really very, very kind and always willing to say hi. >>reporter: robin williams is survived by two

ktvu's tara moriarty joins us live now from the scene in san francisco good afternoon, tara. >> reporter: a glide memorial staff member was attacked inside the block. it happened around 10:00 a.m. the suspect ran off. they were later seen on a bus. police detained them. when we first pulled up, there was an officer who led another staff member in the car for questioning. probably getting some witness type of statements. we do know that the person who was attacked was stabbed in the shoulder. they were taken to san francisco general hospital and they are expected to survive. now, glide memorial church did release a statement, they say, we are saddened by this occurrence and we continue to be committed to making our environment safe and welcoming as we serve san francisco's most vulnerable communities. they also said after the person was attacked, the glide team, which is trained to deal with these sorts of situations provided first aid to the staff member. they acted quickly. two officers just walked out. i believe they have some people that are being questioned about this. that's as far
