live from oakland i'm tara moriarty. >>> our time is 5:33. there is a new report from the city of san jose it has shocking findings on just about how bad the roads are and how much it will cost to fix them. janine de la vega is is joining us live from san jose. how bad are those roads? >> reporter: dave, a report out by the city auditor showed that 60% of the roads here in san jose are so warn out that expensive repairs are needed. the latest data from the metropolitan commission shows san jose ranked 79 out of 109 bay area cities for road quality. the city audit shows pavement conditions continuing to decline and more and more are falling in the worse conditions. streets need to maintained to prevent potholes and cracking. but 39% received maintenance within the last decade. it would cost $504 million and the auditor is recommending that city officials develop a plan that includes a one-time funding source. that might include going to the voters to see how big a priority this is. a committee is going to meet later today to discuss the audit
