exactly what is burning at this point but we do have a crew on the way and right now, we have ktvu's tara moriarty on the phone with us right now. tara, what can you tell us? >> reporter: well, i'm actually driving through the streets right now, sort of trying to get away from the fire. it's absolutely enormous. the billowing cloud of black smoke can be seen for miles. i actually spotted it on my way 101 southbound, and when i got a little close to the fire, i don't know if you have that video yet, i shot some video off my cell phone. but there were threes loud crackling noises. there's something very combustible in the warehouse. this is sort of like an industrial area. we're near mckinnon. i can't get a cross because, again, i'm driving but there is a lot of people that are being told to leave the area, a lot of fire crews here on scene. they were actually pulling up after i arrived. so they keep sending more and more. i haven't had a chance to talk with an official. a couple of police are cordoning off certain streets because they need to drag the hose lines, connect to the fire hydrants. so pe
