weld and douglas counties were among the biggest that voted for trump. 9news reporter tarhondathomas is live in castle rock this morning.. tarhonda, they're the only two in colorado's 64 counties too president... colorado -- trump won nearly 45%. despite voting blue -- governor john hickenlooper says colorado is still a purple state. election in a row colorado has voted for the democratic nominee for president. voters chose barack obama in 2008 and 2012. but going back further -- the state's electoral votes went to the the republican nominee bob dole in 1996 -- and then george w. bush in colorado voters also had to make decisions on nine different ballot measures. these are of course all unofficial until votes are verified by the 22nd. one is colorado- care -- which would have increased state taxes to fund health care for all here. but the measure did not pass. 80-percent of people voted no -- while only 20- percent voted yes. so no universal health care but many will be getting a raise soon. colorado voters chose to increase the minimum wage -- will increase to 12-dollars by 20-20.
