let's bring in mississippi governor tate reeves. you just heard cover nor kelly from kansas. >> thanks for having me on today. one size does not fit all. it is why those that are clamoring for a national strategy don't realize the governors in the trenches working every day. what's best for kansas today is not necessarily what's best for mississippi. i have 82 counties in my state. what is best in the northeast part of our state where numbers are in a certain spot versus what's best for the mississippi gulf coast are different. that's why we're taking a county by county approach. we began this dating all the way back to late june, early july. we have an objective criteria in place. if any county has more than 200 cases over a two-week period or more than 500 cases per 100,000 residents then we put additional measures in place, more strict measures in place which may or not include a max mandate. it includes having smaller-size gatherings and other things such as that. so again it's very important that governors have autonomy to do w

taking on state income taxes, mississippi governor tate reeves calling for the state to eliminate itsing them, quote, one huge speed bump to long-term economic growth and recovery from mississippi. seven states currently have no income or investment taxes and a growing number of businesses and wealthy individuals have moved to states like florida and texas for that reason. dagen, what do you think about this mississippi idea? dagen: basically a welcome sign that mississippi would be putting up. counsecome on down because peope fleeing the northeast, fleeing the high tax states. the only problem is that democratic voters, those blue all the way gals and guys move to these red states and they move to places with conservative policies including no state income tax and then they vote in the democrats. so watch out. maria: yep. brian? brian: yeah, you know, the economic center of gravity in the united states is moving south and it's moving west, mississippi can see that. it wants to be competitive. i think getting rid of the income taxis great. they actually have -- they're not as competit

but, governor tate reeves has said no matter what comes, mississippi will not, even if the national mandateuto on friday. will it worries me when i see some of his leading advisers talking about a four to six week lockdown across the nation. >> right. >> it scares people. i can't tell you the number of people i haver heard from small business leaders in my state that are concerned about this prospect. that's the reasonable i thought it was so important i made very clear in mississippi we are not going to participate in a nationwide lockdown. we are not going to shut down our economy in our state. because our small business owners and quite frankly the hundreds of thousands of mississippians that work cannot afoward to allow that to happen. will: nobody can afford that to happen. also south dakota governor kristi noem tweeted the following just like we said biden's team wants lockdowns we know lockdowns don't stop the spread of the virus. they destroy small businesses and jobs and make it difficult for families to put food on the table. jedediah, i think my points is just one of perspective.
