ted greenberg joins us live with the message and the protesters. ted?> reporter: since we last talked with you at 5:30 the protest has moved from here to the board walk. you have two groups of taj mahal employees and fellow union members. this group came from states around, around the taj mahal, made their way on to the streets and this is where they are. we are told by organizers of this rally, united 54 the largest casino union in atlantic city 70 union members are going to take part in an act of civil disobedience here by blocking virginia and pennsylvania avenue. they will be blocking the entrance to trump taj mahal. carl icahn is the main lender of the taj mahal's parent company. he's set to take over the casino once it emerges from bankruptcy. the main argument here that we've been telling you about since the fall a

nbc 10 jersey shore bureau reporter ted greenberg is in atlantic city. e will check with ted in just a moment. but let's begin with chief meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz. glenn? >> we just have a few hours left of this heat advisory for the urbanized areas around philadelphia corridor and the temperature and humidity combined made it feel like it was 100 degrees this afternoon. 93 degree temperature now, but look what the rain has done to pottstown and allentown, down into the 70s. that is of course just a temporary thing. temperature's going to go back up into the 80s soon. but it won't be going up into the 80s at the jersey shore. 73 in avalon 75 in beach haven. it's been in the 70s all afternoon. with the wind coming in off the ocean. now, we have one cluster of storms near harrisburg but just a couple of them in our area and this one appears to be weakening quite quickly. went through northern chester county and into upper montgomery county. there's a warning associated with it right over upper providence and like i said much less in the way

i'm ted greenberg. thanks for being with us. it is now 5:30 on this saturday morning. let's say good morning again to meteorologist brittney shipp in the first alert weather center. brittney it's a warm morning that's going to get a little wet. >> that's right. it's been a mild start so far. as we head into the afternoon, temperatures will go into the low 80s. we've issued a first alert for the possibility of flooding and heavy rain we expect to see into the overnight hours tonight leading into early sunday morning. so here's a closer look at the first alert issued for the flood watch that's mainly going to be in effect for the entire area from 8:00 p.m. tonight to tomorrow at 8:00 p.m. increased street and creek flooding possible. be careful as you're driving around. especially if you're staying out late tonight or early tomorrow morning. our radar shows what's left of tropical depression bill. and we're seeing a few isolated showers. but the main part of this system will not get here until closer to 10:00, 11:00 at night. but we will see a few showers ahead of that.

we just saw ted greenberg here live.ok at that flooding and what the trucks are making their way through. that area also seeing heavy downpours and a lot of lightning. >> the nbc 10 first alert radar shows the storms developing across the region. they are slow moving and dumping buckets of rain on us this afternoon. sheena parveen has details on the storms that are affecting our area. sheena? >> yeah and some of those storms now still heavy enough and slow enough to cause more flood warnings across the area. especially for salem, parts of cumberland and gloucester county is the flood warning here because of all of this rain you see. the red shows us where the heaviest rain is. up to gloucester. that's where we see some of the heaviest showers and also through parts of new castle county. newark wilmington across 295, 95 all the major interstates, really. and this whole storm is traveling mostly to the east around about 20 miles an hour. clayton, you should see this by about 5:38 upper deerfield, 5:44. williams town, 5:51.

i'm ted greenberg. thanks so much for being up early with us. it's now 6:00 a.m. on this saturday morning. let's say good morning to meteorologist brittney shipp in the first alert weather center get the latest on bill. a lot of rain heading our way. >> that's right. 1 to 2 inches and some areas could get up to 3 inches of rainfall between tonight and into tomorrow night. so that's why we have a first alert issued. it will go in effect tonight at 8:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. tomorrow. we are timing it with the flood watch. mostly cloudy skies and in some locations we are seeing rainfall and as we take a closer look at this first alert, the reason it's going to go into effect is heavy rain is expected. we want you to be very careful driving especially late tonight, early tomorrow morning and once again throughout the day on sunday. so our radar shot shows us in the past hour or so we've seen showers moving in. and that's affecting philadelphia. northern parts of delaware. especially into south jersey vineland, all seeing rainfall at this time. light and spotty. this i

i am ted greenberg. thanks for being with us. it is now 9:30 on this saturday morning.the first alert weather center get the latest from meteorologist brittney shipp on the rain headed our way. some of us could definitely see flooding, right? >> that's right. we have a flood watch going into effect at 8:00 p.m. lasting until sunday at 8:00 p.m. that's why it's a first alert weather day. we are tracking heavy rain moving into our area. it's part of tropical depression bill. a few isolated showers expected as we go through the day. but the main part of the system will not get here until later on closer to 10:00 p.m. flood watch in effect for our whole area. heavy rain expected into our overnight hours. lasting until about 6:00 7:00 a.m. street and creek flooding is a possibility because our area will see 1 to 2 inches. right now current temperatures at current temperatures in the poconos. 69 in trenton. 73 in atlantic city. right along the shore, 75 degrees in wildwood. and over the next eight hours expect temperatures to warm up nicely staying in the low 80s. chance of i
