ted roland is there for us. you have been covering the story and what's happening today, we lost his picture. we will try to get him right back up. ted roland on the scene there. we have another senior producer who is over at the doctor's office as well. we do have him as well. let's go to him. paul, i believe you are with me. what's happening over there at the doctor's office where you are? >> well, t.j., as you said, they are over there at the house. over here at the doctor's office, for three hours now, dea agents along with other officers have gone inside conducting what the dea calls a record search. they are not just looking for paper. they sent in an elite team of cyb cyber slooths hop on down the cyber trail and find out what they can find about possible drug use and dr. murray and michael jackson. they are looking at hardware, software, anything they think can provide a clue of what might have happened to michael jackson. no doubt, they are looking for something called diprivan, that very powerful drug

murray and ted rolands in las vegas. ted. >> reporter: two separate search warrants were serveed in las vegas. one at murray's home in a gated community. the other one here at murray's las vegas clinic. the first one, the one at the house, only took three hours to serve. they went in. murray greeted them. he was in the house at that time. they took out one computer hard drive and some cell phones. here, a much different story. they were here for a total of eight hours going through medical evidence. they came out with what they called documents, evidence. they came out with a number of different things that were in briefcases and other smaller items. not the big items that we saw in houston. more smaller, more targeted, it seems, but it took them a long time to get them. >> ted, where is dr. murray right now? do we know? is he in las vegas? >> reporter: is he in las vegas, and according to a neighbor, he has been in las vegas for much of the period of the last few weeks. his attorney says he hasn't left his home because h

the one note is forest lawn cemetery, ted rolands is over there. what are you seeing at forest lawn? >> reporter: well, don, no sign of the family here yet at forest lawn. last night you mentioned they came here for a gathering as well. there was a hearse at that point, too. it is part of the gathering from last night. now that we know jackson's body will be going to staples center, that begs the question, will the body then be going with the family? that's probably a good assumption at this point. what we do know is at 8:00, witness the next hour, family members are going to gather for what they are calling a private gathering. from there they will be escorted, and there are enough police here to escort the president. they are going to escort the family and jackson's body to the staples center for the 10:00 a.m. memorial. heavy presentation presence here of security, but no family members here yet. we assume this will begin at the top of the hour. >> i have to say that the gathering at forest lawn here last night may have been the only family gath

cnn's ted rolands has the latest. >> reporter: executing a search warrant at dr. conrad murray's houston clinic, then murray's lawyers release a bomb shell, a statement confirming that a potential case of manslaughter is being built against the doctor who was with michael jackson when he died. the statement reads in part, the search warrant authorized law enforcement to search for and seize items, including documents they believed constituted evidence of the offense of manslaughter. >> this is the first confirmation we've had and its from the doctor's own attorney that there's a manslaughter investigation. we're not just talking about prescription medication and negligence there, an actual homicide investigation. that's a big development. >> reporter: agents took a forensic image of a business computer hard drive and 21 documents during the search. murray who was being paid $150,000 a month to care for jackson has been at the center of what until now has been simply characterized as a death investigation. murray's lawyer said they were surprised by the search, but

let's go vegas now cnn's ted roland is on the scene what are you picking up, ted? >> reporter: two search warrant are as were served, one to dr. conrad murray's home is completed in terms of their search. it took three hours. murray, according to a neighbor, was in the house when acts searched the home. when they came can out, agent also very little with them. looks as if they had only copied a few computer hard drives. not much more than that. a different story at his clinic las vegas. at it for five hours and just told to expect it could be another two hours. clearly, they are going through, with the help of the dea, the medical files that are pertinent to this investigation, exactly what we saw happen in houston last week. and when that search warrant was returned to court, that search warrant said that they were looking for materials that would support a "manslaughter case" potentially. that is expected to be exactly what is happening here. meanwhile, this comes a day after a source tells us that conrad murray did give michael jackson the powerful drug diprivan
