ted rolands reporting live from los angeles. stick with the plane theme, shall we. the east coast, another airplane accident this one delta airlines jet from atlanta skidded off the runway trying to land at new york's la guardia airport. the nose of the plane broke through a safety fence a few feet from the icy water. one passenger said it felt like a car fishtailing. the runway had just been plowed other pilots reported safe braking. >> one of the puzzling elements here is why the airplane veered off the runway when they still had quite a bit of runway ahead of them. that would indicate that another malfunction took place that we haven't considered. >> six people were injured, nobody seriously. many of the 130 passengers and crew aboard had to get off the plane over a wing. the crash closed la guardia's runways for hours forcing them to cancel over 900 flights. >>> the late winter storm has also created nightmares for hundreds of drivers in kentucky. they were trapped on 2 major highways for more than 16 hours. heavy snow turned
