joining us on the phone is ted williams, dc lawyer and former homicide detective. ted, about a half hour ago we heard from a police chief there. did you hear the press conference and what are your thoughts on that? >> i heard that chilling press conference. i listened to mark ferman and rod wheeler on the phone and i can tell your viewers we all have been in law enforcement and our hearts go out to the officers who have been shot and their families. i don't think the public can get a good feel of what happened when you learn that law enforcement officers who only want to protect and serve who were ingnaw -- innocently out there doing their job tonight and to have somebody shoot them in the dead of night under these circumstances this is the worst case saw their yow -- saw yarr yarr -- scenario for law enforcement and the worst case scenario for the community. there is something rod wheeler said that i have to agree with. what more do they want? the chief of police has stepped down. the city manager has stepped down. there there was no need what so ever under any cir
