believe he's hiding in the bushes that are lighted up, you can see behind me on the cliff this is telegraph hill coit tower at the top, lights shined on to that hill. they believe the suspect is still in there. they've had some communication with him. they've seen the bushes moving, suggesting he's still in there. the last time they talked to him was three hours ago. haven't heard from him since as far as we know. this began 6:00 last night at the top of the hill where you see the light shining that is where according to police, this guy was spotted going into a condo unit. a woman saw him, called 911. the manager came out and confronted him. he pushed the manager away. and came down that cliff. some people are amazed how go down that cliff it is sheer there are some bushes and trees to hang on to, but he made it about 3/4 of the way down. he's 60 feet up that cliff still and there has been communication with him. >> took off down into this bush hill area that you see behind us. it is pretty sheer, 10 to 20 foot high bushes over there. i know our tactical team was out earlier they said base of t

>>james: telegraph hill in san francisco, we had a rock slide earlier in the week. boulders crashed a car and rolled up next to an apartment building. it was a pretty incredible scene. let's get the latest from the scene with jackie sissel. >>jackie: the plan is, the department of public works hopes to get some equipment in here. the rock side is up this road in and around the corner, on the side of the condominium complex on the lombard street. it is very tight. they have to get specialized equipment and obviously the concern is they do not want to cause any more damage. let's take a look at video from yesterday with the geologists and engineers survey the site. the good news is they say the hell has stabilized. they did not see any cracking or new threats. they want to get in here with the equipment and take off those smaller rocks so that a larger boulders do not have a place to roll down. once they do that they can put the fencing, the protective netting back up around the condominium complex so that any further slides will not affect a complex. that is the hope

i am the president of the telegraph hill dwellers. in neighborhood association, one of the largest in san francisco, with more than 650 members. we are here today for two main reasons. we are concerned with of zoning in the manner reposed. number one, we are talking about a dramatic 50-foot increased in the height limit on this project, which we passionately believe would open the door to potential up-the zoning to create high rises along the waterfront in years to come. those of you who have been around for some time know that there is a checkered past along the northern waterfront of bad ideas, the u.s. steel project with the skyscraper. that was shot down because people spoke up. there was a proposal to pave the northeast corner of the bay to create a walking mall, commercial area here that was struck down because people spoke up. the issue here today is up- zoning, scaling up by five stories of space that is an historic district, makes no sense. the other issue is what people can see. my organization is often challenged, and in th
