"today in the bay's" marla tellez joins us with more information on this investigation. gd morning, marla. >> reporter: good morning, laura. that alleged incident happened right here at the kiddie academy. it is set to open its doors at 6:30. the big questions to be answered still, did the questions actually drink the spiked water? number two, did this happen on more than one occasion? morgan hill police say that 59-year-old deborah gratz admits she put somonex, the popular sleep aid, in several of the sippy cups. the tampered cups were taken away, they say, before the kids could drink from them. police are investigating both statements much deeper. gratz, who taught here for five years, looked after ten 1 to 2-year-olds. they did find some evidence at her home in hollizter, but wouldn't say what that evidence is. parents are shocked, concerned and horrified, especially one mother whose 2-year-old son suffers from epilepsy and he has been under gratz's care for several months. >> i would never picture anybody doing this to any kid. >> as a parent you have this trust whic

marla tellez joins us with more on this investigation. >> reporter: good morning. morgan hill police tell us that deborah gratz was booked and charged on felony and misdemeanor child endanger charges. meantime, the kiddy academy, where the alleged incident took place is doing damage control after firing gratz. the 59-year-old teacher put sominex in several children's sipy cups. the tampered cups were taken away before the kids could actually drink from them but parents we talked to aren't getting any chances and are getting their kids checked out by their doctors. gratz looked after ten 1 to 2-year-olds. they did find evidence at her home in hollister. they also say gratz admits she did it, but say it was only that one time. parents we caught up were shocked and concerned. though at least one mother still says she has faith in this daycare. >> i think it was a particular one incident. and i do believe in his teachers doing a good thing and, you know, they've been taking care of him, so i trust them. >> i would never picture anybody do this to any kids. >> reporter:

"today in the bay's" marla tellez is at the san jose police department. she has all of the new details. marla, good morning. >> reporter: jon, good morning. police arrested one person but at this point they're not saying who this person is. neighbors at the crime scene say it is the victim's girlfriend. 69-year-old stanley jacobson was reported as you mentioned about a month ago. his friends worried when he didn't show up to the daily lunch get together. yesterday he was found stabbed to death inside his own apartment at the hill top manor senior apartments on ironwood drive near highway 87. at the scene of the crime one neighbor tells us he saw jacobson's girlfriend regina butler being led away by officers in handcuffs. >> the person in custody will be interviewed and give a statement on what led up to this. what were people with him doing? trying to exploit him financially, trying to target him? >> reporter: when jacobson went missing three or four weeks ago, police were looking for his girlfriend in the first place. this morning we're working to confir

"today in the bay's" bob redell is live in campbell right now with what we just learned about this incident. bob, what's the latest? >> reporter: good morning to you, jon. the crime scene itself has just been cleared. the investigators have left after having them processing the scene here lattimer and dumpster for the last several hours. this is unusual for the city of campbell. several years since someone was murdered within this town. last homicide taking place in 2007 and police are trying to figure out this one in a neighborhood of apartments and duplexes not far from hamilton and winchester. police found the victim in the area after someone called 911. richard vega, an 18-year-old man, was bleeding having been shot more than once. he died a little bit after

"today in the bay's" marla tellez joins us live at the proposed sign on winchester boulevard and olin avenue. >> this is a congested area. where will people park? >> reporter: it is hard to imagine the parking situation getting even tougher. we are standing in one of the five parking lots that they offer, winchester boulevard and olin drive. the movie theater is right behind us. this could completely be demolished and become an office building. they would add three new buildings, 700,000 square feet. the oakland tribune reports it would come date 25 hin to 3500 employees. as mentioned, one building would reportedly wipe out the parking lot along winchester and olsen. another building would go up on the south side of the theater. that space would require the developer to bulldoze an apartment class on dudley avenue. as it stands stan tan na row already has hundreds of shops and restaurants. >> reporter: don't forget. people actually live here. the developer has a plan to build an underground parking garage. people would have the option to park below. this plan is not set in stone just
