east bay temps. a lot of 70s. walnut creek, 66. 50s around el cerrito. even martinez in the low 60s. thunderstorms over the sierra. mainly south of tahoe. but they're getting closer. and for us, if there's any patchy fog, it will probably get resistance. temperatures am -- will back off a teeny bit. 6:01. sal is here. and good news. what is going on. >> well, there is one thing. but there's a good work-around. these days, the kids, they'll call it a hack. northbound 880 is going to be slow. what's your hack? use 580 instead. 580 actually looks good from san leandro. 880 had a grass fire on the right side. problem is, the fire department had to show up, obviously and block the lanes. so they put the fire out. wasn't a big deal. but it was a big deal for traffic. look at all of that slow traffic there. 580 is a good alternate route. when you get to the bay bridge toll plaza. you will see traffic is okay. 23 minutes from the carquinez to the macarthur maze. and toll traffic is going to be busy. no problems getting off to hayward. and silicon valley commute
