i'm terrell brown in for betty nguyen. this morning officials in california are watching the skies, hoping a fifth straight day of record rain won't be one too many, the latest wave of storms started last night, the worst expected this morning. forecasters predict it could bring several more inches of rain to the water-logged state. meanwhile, more than 200 homes were evacuated last night in two los angeles suburbs. emergency workers went door to door to get people to leave. officials say those homes are in danger of being wiped out by mudslides. the governor has declared a state of emergency in six california counties and the damage isn't just in california. four homes including this one washed away in littlefield, arizona, near the utah-nevada borders. fire officials say a dozen more homes are at risk. this is the worst flooding in that region in more than five years. ben tracy has more from hard-hit southern california. >> reporter: water, water everywhere. >> the water is up past my knees. >> reporter: her living room

i'm terrell brown for betty nguyen. this morning that powerful and dangerous snowstorm that pounded the upper midwest with snow, strong winds and subfreezing temperatures is headed east. over 2,000 airline flights have been canceled major highways closed and in some areas wind chills expected to fall 30 degrees below zero. at least four weather-related deaths reported and up to 23 inches of snow fell in parts of minnesota. cynthia bowers has more. >> reporter: first came heavy snow. enough to collapse the 9.5 acre roof of the minneapolis metrodome home of the minnesota vikings and gave way this morning, unable to stand up to the fifth heaviest snowfall in twin cities history. 17 inches in 18 hours. >> oh. >> reporter: the vikings will play the new york giants in detroit monday, but the giants were unable to get to minneapolis anyway because the airport there shut down for the first time in 19 years. roads across the region were also closed. heavy snow kept firefighters from getting to a house fire, where two people died
