i'm terrell brown in for betty nguyen this morning. and this morning good news for congresswoman gabrielle giffords'. giffords' condition has been upgraded from critical to serious. she's no longer on a ventilator. she's breathing on her own and can move both arms and legs. it was nine days ago that giffords and 18 others were shot at a tucson shopping center. over the weekend funerals were held for some of the victims and the city is trying to come to grips with tragedy. john blackstone reports. >> reporter: hundreds who were already connected by shock and sorrow walked together sunday through the streets of tucson, organizers called it a walk for peace. the still raw emotions here were evident when one of the victims of the shooting, eric fuller, who took a bullet in the leg, was charged with intimidation and disorderly conduct after he threatened a local tea party leader at a town hall meeting organized by abc news. >> he booed me as i was talking and then he took a picture of me and said that you're dead. >> reporter: there were tw

good to see you i'm terrell brown in for betty nguyen. a federal grand jury in tucson has indicted jared lee loughner who's charged in the attempted assassination of congresswoman gabrielle giffords and the attempted murder of two of her aides. a preliminary hearing is set for monday in phoenix. more charges are pending. six people were killed and 13 wounded in that attack. meanwhile, 12 days after a bullet ripped through her brain, the congresswoman continues to make amazing progress. she's poised to take another giant step on her road to recovery. >> she was able to stand on her own with assistance. we're able to put her in a chair. we put her in front of the window so she could see the mountain. >> reporter: after less than two weeks in the hospital, the congresswoman is set to be released tomorrow and flown to a rehabilitation center in houston. it's not clear if she can speak or how well she can see. in an e-mail to friends her parents wrote, there is a team of medical specialists involved, including military surgeons who specialize

i'm terrell brown in for betty nguyen. the commander of the nuclear powered aircraft carrier "uss enterprise" could lose his job as early as today. captain owen honors is at the center of a navy investigation. he's featured in some raunchy videos that were shown to the ship's crew. randall pinkston is in washington with the latest on that. randall, good morning to you. >> reporter: good morning, terrell. captain owen honors was a u.s. naval graduate, a top gun commander and naval aviator. he had risen to the pinnacle of his career as commander of the "uss enterprise." now that career is in jeopardy. military officials tell cbs news captain owen honors could be relieved of his command aboard the "uss enterprise" as early as today. >> there's a really good chance you're going to be offended by this. >> reporter: he will reportedly be removed from his post while the navy investigates racy tapes from 2006 and 2007. honors, then second in command, both produced and starred in the videos which were shown to nearly 6,000 sailors.
