i was in a bar called the terrence rose and it is about 15 or 20 metres from bourbon street and we werein having a great time in i had been in there for a two and half hours at that point and then we heard shots and saw people running past the window and didn't really know what was going on. obviously we heard it and we knew it was not going to be good but we knew, "ok, it's a shooting and someone has been shot" and obviously that was not the case. they shuddered down the windows, locked the doors and we all sort of... in a way supposedly try to carry on in a way because we did not know anything. things were a lot quieter at that point. and then all of the silence started. then we started to know it was more. bearing in mind fireworks had been going off all night and you hear bangs and the fireworks had been going off for hours and hours before midnight as well. so the noise you grow accustomed to by that point. but we were alljust accustomed to by that point. but we were all just talking and wondering, what has happened and what do we do. the bar staff were great. they were all very ca
