kimberly terry is live with more on the shooting. >> reporter: terry, police are still out here conducting the investigation into the death of that man who was shot at least once overnight. police say they received the first 911 call about this incident just after 2:45 a.m. when they arrived in this business park in the 1900 block of center road, they found a man dead. >> the incident occurred at an underground rave nightclub located a short distance away. officers secured the area, looked for witnesses and tried to locate any sort of evidence. >> investigators say there was a raid going on nearby that the man's body was found in the parking lot. no suspects have been detained and the motive is still being investigated. police say there were about 40 people who were outside of the rave at the time of the shooting and 40 people inside the building. they were able to interview them but still looking for more information. if you know anything about this shooting, you are asked to call san jose police. this is the city's 11th homicide this year. nbc bay area news. >>> san francisco police are

i'm diane dwire. >> i'm terry mcsweeney. a big heads up for san jose commuters. tomorrow morning construction begins on the long awaited b.a.r.t. extension to the silicon valley. traffic will be impacted along haas tetter road between thicken jer and lundy avenues. kimberly terry is near the construction site with details on what drivers can expect as the project gears up. >> reporter: i'm standing on some old railroad tracks that will eventually become the b.a.r.t. line through san jose. construction on haastetter road between lundy and slickenger avenues will begin monday. the first major work being done in san jose for the south bay b.a.r.t. extension. there will be a temporary lane shift to the south and a reduction in traffic lanes from three to two lanes in both directions. the b.a.r.t. silicon valley communications director says drivers should give themselves extra time in this area, especially during peak commute hours. in addition to this very visible work that will be taking place over the next nine months, the chief says there are multiple other constr

in boston, terry mcsweeney, nbc bay area news. >> thank you, terry. >>> now to the latest on a developingtory in texas where officials are still looking for the missing after a massive explosion at a fertilizer plant. those who saw it say they still can't believe it. it started with a fire then an explosion that practically levelled a small texas town, all happening last night in the town of west. tonight, the city's mayor says he believes that 45 to 50 were killed in the blast, because that is the number of people still unaccounted for. nbc's kevin torres has more. >> reporter: at this hour, the investigation continues. as authorities look for the victims who are still missing. it was a big plume of smoke that choked the sky and the after-effects of the blast that really bullied theñr community. rescue crews are searching for the people after the explosion. cameras were rolling and caught the blast as it happened. the blast, so strong that it extended to out of the community that extends beyond the plant. several volunteer firefighters caught up in the initial explosion are now missing.
