black studies leading to the third world strike at san francisco state and leaders like arnold and terry collins' leadership of kpoo building broader community and unity among other low-income communities as well to give a stronger voice so kpoo is seen by some as black radio station or african-american radio station. i've always seen it as united people's radio station that really broadcasts the best of our arts and culture and histories of struggle in our neighborhoods as well. i wanted to also say that harrison [speaker not understood] and many of the broadcasters from larry chiu and others that i have trained with over the years in the '80s and donald lacy, they bring such quality broadcasting and the current list of people that are broadcasting from kpoo as a tremendous resource for our neighborhood supporting local and new and emerging artists in our communities to really the best music and culture not only improvisational blues, gospel, salsa from [speaker not understood] to the program, but amazing institution in our community. one of the most diverse radio stations that i can think of.

terry? >> reporter: a lot of people have been following the disappearance of kevin collins for many years. tonight i spoke with steven collins, kevin's brother. he said he has seen many breakthroughs over the years, but this one looks like the real thing. this is the person of interest in the disappearance of kevin collins. this is man san francisco police knew mostly as wayne jackson. he had at least four aliases, and that's what threw police off his trail. >> based on jackson's description, his residence on masonic avenue, his ownership of a large black dog, and his criminal history, we are investigating jackson as a person of interest in this case. >> reporter: jackson was 6 feet tall, blond, and had a black dog, just like the person last seen talking to collins in february of 1984 at masonic and oak streets in san francisco. jackson lived on masonic. >> it's hard to look at it and not think, you know, that this is it, or this was very, very likely that this is what happened. >> reporter: kevin's brother steven found out last night from police that when kevin vanished, officers knew of

collins on monday. >> this is plot and never should be a partisan issue. this is an equal opportunity crime. >> john: funnying us now is the president of the national organization for women terry thank you for being with us tonight. >> it's great to be here, john. >> john: thank you so much. is it fathomable that our republican friends in the house could remany being the party that opposes the violence against women act? >> i would have thought after the 2012 elections that the republican party would understand two things. number one, they have a problem with women. number two, they have specifically have a problem around rape. the violence against women act is specifically aimed at responding to sexual assault as well as domestic violence and dating violence and stalking. we're on the verge of passing a very good bill in the senate as we did in the last congress. what remains to be seen is whether the house, which is under the control of the republican party, a party which in turn remains under the control of a radical fringe, remains to be seen whether they will really understand what the voters were saying to them, and whether they will continue to try to block this very po
