terry mcauliffe? so, who else has her ear? >> she is talking to everybody. we know she is in communication with bernie sanders. there is a conversation about what he wants and what his people want to see. we know that she is in conversation with seamer democrats across the party. about starting to make a plan for what will happen next in the convention. the convention is partially an unveiling of your positioning. and unveiling of your presidential candidate. so you will have to include building a candidate around that? looking a narrative around hillary clinton as well. i suspect that she is getting input from everywhere. oh, pick our candidate, pick our candidate. several groups reached out and said hello, remember. >> i will not ask you who you think she will pick but when? do you think it will be after the convention? what is her timeline? >> my feeling would-be after. but there are only a couple of days between. so you would have to move fast. but normally, you want to get a good bounce. you wouldn't want to date -- you wouldn't want to do it the day be

the added benefit of a democratic governor in the state who would appoint his replacement and terry mcauliffene makes a lot of sense. honestly, i like a lot of these choices. i think they all have different strengths and merits to recommend them. >> let's put up the quick poll while i go to whitney for just a second. monmouth actually did a poll of registered voters to ask who they would like. bernie sanders got the biggest number, and he's not under consideration. the question on tim kaine i think is whether or not he can solve what you might sort of inartfully call hillary clinton's white male problem. she polls horribly with white male voters. is tim kaine the answer to that? >> depends on which white people -- what white voters you are talking about. i think the issue for her is that there's like this idea, there's the disaffected working class white voters that have a problem with her and then there's also sort of like the conservative traditional republican white voters. i think there's a lot of those people that are looking for any reason to vote for her, not to vote for donald trump.

terry mcauliffe, who was her campaign chairman at that time, introduced her as the next president oftates. wow have thought from that speech she was going to go all the way to the convention. she was out of the race three days later. so i think there's a process in place. i was comforted by that speech that bernie sanders wants to do the right thing, get behind hillary clinton, and ensure that a democrat succeeds broesh. >> one of the things he did very early on in that speech is he made clear his number one goal is to defeat donald trump. that seemed like a message to his supporters and hillary clinton supporters that whatever i'm about to say after this, that's still our number one goal. can we bring the california numbers up because we keep tallying the vote in california. about 41% of the vote in right now. we'll put that up in a second so you can see where california stands. 44% of the votes in. the vote is still coming in. bernie sanders is closing in some, but he's got a long way to go if he wants to win there. mj lee, bernie sanders said we're going to fight hard to win the p
