afternoon, everyone, thank you for joining us on this special edition of nbc bay area news, i'm terry mcsweeneynd i'm jessica a geary. we will get the latest in pyeongchang in a moment. first we want to start in santa clara county. >> an emergency landing happened just before noon highway 101 near the san martin airport. thom jensen was the first reporter on the scene. thom, you spoke to the pilot. he must have a heck of a story to hell. >> reporter: he really does. we couldn't talk to him for very long, he was trying to get the airplane into the airport at san martin, it was quite a story. it was not a crash, it was what he told me was an unscheduled and obviously emergency landing. as he was trying to get from an airport in davis and fly back to his home airport in watsonville where he has a hangar, he said that he had a mechanical malfunction of some sort. he called into air traffic control and they routed him here to the san martin airport, but as he came down out of the clouds flying up at about 16,000 to 20,000 feet he knew that he couldn't make it into the airport here, so he set it down

terry mcsweeney joins us with the details in vaccaville. >> reporter: that 64-year-old woman drivinghe school bus allegedly got rough with the 7-year-old when the little girl refused to get off the school bus. so rough that the second grader was injured. it happened here at browns valley elementary school last week. as special needs children were being cropped off, one 7-year-old refused to leave the bus. video shows the driver forcefully grab add the girl. >> physically we gan to move her around the bus. at one point the child is down on her buttocks and the driver is forcing her knees up against the student. >> reporter: the child had scratches on her back and ribs. the driver kim klopson booked into jail today for felony child abuse following a week long police investigation. unified school district says klopson no longer works there and says no child should ever experience something like that can especially at school. we hope the consequences and charges filed reach the full extent of the law. she could be sentenced up to six years in prison. she has no prior arrests. we were not
