i'm terry mcsweeney. >> we'll get to that story in just a minute but first we're following breaking news out of oakland. police have spent six hours there trying to convince a suspect to come out of a home. >> what do we know right now? >> reporter: well, it you take a look behind me you'll see a white house. this is the house police have surrounded here, and they've been using a pa system to try to get the suspect to come out. >> we have the place surrounded. >> reporter: police first got a call at 5:00 tonight that a person with a gun had barricaded herself inside that home. they've been using a pa system to tell the suspect to walk out the front door with hands up. so far the suspect has not come out. police also gave the suspect a phone number to call them directly. a neighbor tells me a woman lives in that house and they claim she's been using a bb gun to shoot house windows and cars in this neighborhood. police have not confirmed that. now, they have blocked off secks of monticello avenue. and meanwhile neighbors have not been able to get back into their homes. so many of them are

thank you for joining us, i'm terry mcsweeney in for raj mathai. >> i'm jessica aguirre. what went wrong? ian cull joins us. it's not clear if presurgery steps were followed? >> the woman went to miami for the operations. our nbc producers there have documented a number of cases like this, women flocking to south florida, lured by low-cost plastic surgery, the results can be tragic. delma pineda, 44-year-old mother of two from richmond, flew to south florida for cosmetic procedures. she stayed with her friend cindy. she says employees at the cosmetic site sent pineda to get a pre-op ultrasound. the center was closed and when they came back, cg cosmetic proceeded with the operations anyway. after the one-day surgery for breast implants, liposuction, and tummy tuck, she says pineda was in pain all night, collapsed around 4:00 a.m., died at the hospital. long hyme dive frie long-time friends in the bay area couldn't believe it. >> everybody was devastated. big loss. >> reporter: family members want justice and they set up a go fund me to bury pineda and help in the legal fig

i'm terry mcsweeney in for raj mathai. >> and i'm jessica aguirre. soaked and about to get more soggy. a new round of wet weather is here. we are under a microsystclimate weather aler. what are we talking about in terms of heaviest rain? >> we're seeing the south bay getting pummelled over the past hour. that's where things are have picked up fast. a few reports i'm hearing tonight are street flooding issues. also another part of east san jose. down to the south bay. put the radar on a sloloop, thas rainfall rate about 1 inch per hour coming down so hard. a lot of the streets had a hard time dealing with the drainage from those heavy rains. now most of it is moving off towards the hills. but what i want everybody to know in the south bay is there is another round on the quay. you can see it right here across the santa cruz mountains. this is producing about a half inch per hour. so we may run into more flooding issues as we head throughout the next 30 to 45 minutes. we'll likely see things pick up yet again in campbell by 11:32. san jose at 11:47. le

i'm terry mcsweeney. >> and i'm jessica aguirre.olice released new information just 40 minutes ago. that sexual assault happening in the shadow of notable tech companies. the suspect, police say, on the run after an all-out search in palo alto. nbc bay area's anoushah rasta just spoke with police. what do you find out? >> reporter: this attack happened just a half mile away from tesla. this is the scene near deer creek road and arastradero road. police had a perimeter up and some officers were blocking smaller roads surrounding the area. others were putting up yellow crime tape along walking trails. police tell us a high school-aged girl was jogging in the area on a bike path when a man pulled her into some high grass and sexually assaulted her with a gun to her head. this reportedly happened just before 2:00 this afternoon on the trail that runs parallel to arastradero road. after the attack, police say the gunman took off running and the girl stopped a passerby for help. >> the victim, who was transported to a local hospital, whil
