i'm terry mcsweeney.ruly rare and dangerous encounter, a shark attacks a surfer who somehow made it to shore. lucky for him, there happened to be one other man on that beach, and he saved the man's life. sergio, you spoke exclusively with the man who jumped into action. >> reporter: yeah, thomas tells me that he was at thehen he spo surfer walking towards him, limping towards him, bleeding, calling for help, and collapsed. this is video thomas shared of emergency crews working to help the surfer on the beach. >> i'd been fishing for about 15 minutes when i heard a guy kind of over this shoulder holler for me. >> reporter: the man said a shark attacked him. he was bleeding pretty bad. masawda says he called 911 and tried to help stop the bleeding. >> i looked at the guy and said help is on the way, we made like a tourniquet. >> reporter: emergency crews got there within ten minutes. masada watched the whole time. >> might have saved the guy by fishing. >> reporter: he shot that video of himself at the scen

i'm terry mcsweeney. a potentially dangerous heat wave is on the way. a live look at dublin is beautiful and temperatures in the 80s. that's nice. don't get used to it. it's about a change in a big way. rob mayeda has been keeping track of the intense heat. what's the forecast, rob? >> the heat we could see through the week and the power grid issues we could see throughout the state. excessive heat watches and warnings for wednesday and thursday will be for about 75% of california. this is a large footprint for this heat event which obviously right now we're not seeing much outside with 70s and 80s around the bay area, and even a little bit of drizzle as we head towards tomorrow morning. think of it as a cooldown before tomorrow's temperatures. the heat kicks in on wednesday. that's the day we'll see the first day of 90s inland. from there the valleys will soar pho the 90s and as hot in some areas of salerno county. you can think of that as desert-like air-conditioning transplanted on the bay area. it gets started on wednesday, peaks on thursday and fri
