. >> joining me now is terry o'neil, president of the national organization for women. here tonight. >> hi, reverend. thanks for having me. >> first, what is your take on governor corbett's comment about closing their eyes? >> you know, it is -- it reminds me of the legislator in alabama, who specifically said he wanted women to have a choice as to whether they would be humiliated with what duns berry calls that 10-inch shaming wand, that is the vaginal probe, or should they be humiliated with an external sonogram. the governor is clearly out of touch with what is important to women, clearly doesn't care about women's health care. it is, as you say, a shocking and outrageous comment. and this is a man who is governor of an entire state. he really should not be in that position at all. >> now, it's outrageous, but let's go to the senate debating this bill. and i notice there's some ray of hope. some republicans are getting a little nervous. senator lisa murkowski on the senate floor today, even republican senator murkowski said she thinks her colleagues should vote for t

joining me now is terry o'neil, president of the national organization of women. she and the group are calling for clear channel to pull the plug on limbaugh. also with us, john wilson. he's the author of "the most dangerous man in america." rush limbaugh's assault on reason. thank you for being on the show tonight. terry, how do we keep the pressure on? >> we need to keep the pressure on the advertisers to continue leaving. rush limbaugh is absolutely wrong in saying that he can withstand all these advertising -- advertisers leaving. he can't. and then we need to turn to the stations. he brags he has 600 stations that's cover him. those stations need to start dropping him. two have dropped him already. we need to see more stations dropping him. look. rush limbaugh clearly has a first amendment right to say what he thinks. but he doesn't have a first amendment right to have a radio station or to be paid by clear channel. that's not his first amendment right. >> i think, john, that no one denies his first amendment right. but we also have the right to say that we'r

terry o'neil, the president of the national organization of women, is also calling for him to be fired. at least two advertisers have now bailed on rush. reports might be more to follow. several other advertisers are reporting overwhelming customer feedback and vowing to take a hard look at rick santorum of all people is running away saying rush is, quote, being absurd. meanwhile, the woman at the center of all of this received some big support today. the president of the united states called sandra fluke thanking her for exercising her right to speak out on policy. she told andrea mitchell about the call today. >> he encouraged me and supported me and thanked me for speaking out about the concerns of american women and what was really personal for me was that he said to tell my parents that they should be proud. and that meant a lot because rush limbaugh questioned whether or not my family would be proud of me. >> everyone should be proud of you. but rush went ugly again. >> obama just called sandra fluke to make sure she was all right. aw. the president tells sandra fl e fluke, 30-ye

and i see terry o'neill and the current president kim gandy, thank you for all your work. the martha burk and alex cohan and many, many really pillars for women's movement. i must say that this is a very exciting time for all of us and despite all the problems that we have, we are lucky to be living at the time that we can make things better. and we really can. when sandra wanted to testify and we were told she was unqualified, i venture to say any woman is more qualified to talk about women's health than any man. [applause] and she graciously stood her ground and i'm so proud of sandra. but when i wrote a "huffington post" article about what happened, over 2000 people rode in. they rode and commented on how outraged they were the women did not have a place at the table. and how outrageous it was that rush limbaugh made the decision not to be fair, but to attack her in the most disrespectful way with horrible word that i will not repeat them as he was attacking her, he is attacking in america and showing america that you could call an innocent student anything am thinking

[applause] >> good afternoon, everybody. i am thrilled to be here. i would not take up a lot of time. i want to have time for questions and answers. moms rising are taking a lead in the her votes coalition. those blog carnivals are really fun. it in days. they are really needs. you will see more of them and more things going on through her votes. the national organization for women is engaged in a massive voter education and mobilization project. we know we have to get the word out to women about what is at stake this year. this really is a pivotal year for women. somebody gave statistics about what the women's vote was in 2008. 64% voted in 2008. in 2010, the number of women voting plummeted. that is the word that is used by the noted pollster. she said plummeted is the right word. when women did not get out and vote in 2010, what was the result? the tea party. an unprecedented war against women. tea party elected officials flooded into the united states congress and legislatures, taking over all three governing bodies, the
