sullivan, our co-worker, and the parliamentarian of the house. i've known all parliament irn -- parliamentarians in their sitting back to mr. deshler, mr. brown, mr. terry johnson an now of course our good friend, mr. sullivan and before them, i had the privilege of knowing the distinguished gentleman from missouri, a member of this body and also a prior parliamentarian of this body. i'm sure that this has been an evening that's opinion somewhat painful to our friend, the parliamentarian, because he has heard all kinds of nice things about him at a time when that is rather an unacut tomed practice. but i would like to tell him how proud we are that we've had such a dedicated public servant to work for and on behalf of the house of representatives and on behalf of all of us. as he repyres -- retires at the enof this week as parliamentarian of the house, i hope he knows his work would be approved and enthusiastically so, by all the gentlemen i have mentioned earlier. i also hope that he understands that he has seen the greatest respect and afeck from his colleagues here in the house for his fairness, impartiality, and decency, his integrity and for the fa
