thomas. >> and i'm kristen sze. our top story, caltrans is starting a big push to get critical information out to you. the bay bridge will be closed on the president's day weekend. maybe. terry mcsweeney joins us live from treasure island with the good intends behind caltrans complicated advisory. >> reporter: you are right. -- very good intentions -- the plan to shutdown the bay bridge westbound going from oakland into san francisco, two or three days to of the 18th through 20th of february this is work that can only occur in dry weather. get washed out and that the concern that's why he they are coming up with these other plans. take a look at the bridge we are talking about. other planned shutdowns in 2007 and 2009 went smoothly they took place over labor day weekend when there was no rain. caltrans needs to close the westbound lanes so crews can reconfigure the roadway and work on the lanes taking traffic on a new detour heading into san francisco taking drivers from the toll plaza on to the bridge. the question becomes, if is rain, what happens? there is no self-respecting meteorologist who is going to hazard a guess as to what the forecast is going to be for february 1
