thomas. >>> occupation continues, albeit without tents. two dozen protest are holding their ground at justin herman plaza, after some tense moments with police overnight. terry mcsweeney live at the plaza. what is going on out there now? >> reporter: if you hadn't known the recent history you would think it is another morning here in san francisco. here at the site where the tents were set up for two months, you can see some sleeping on the side there, police not hassling them, because they don't have tents. tents seem to be the symbol of the day. video from just a few hours ago, protesters tried to set up a symbolic 10 in the middle of the area where they were evict -- symbolic tent in the middle of the area where they were evicted from yesterday morning. they ran police in pursuit, police ended up grabbing that tent and taking it away from the demonstrators. most demonstratorses have moved to market street in -- demonstrators have moved to market street. >> i think they made a great statement -- >> reporter: you can see:u-peopf the federal reserve billing at 101 market, maybe three dozen people sleeping there. but there are no tents. a lot of police presen

thomas. >> and i'm kristen sze. our top story, caltrans is starting a big push to get critical information out to you. the bay bridge will be closed on the president's day weekend. maybe. terry mcsweeney joins us live from treasure island with the good intends behind caltrans complicated advisory. >> reporter: you are right. -- very good intentions -- the plan to shutdown the bay bridge westbound going from oakland into san francisco, two or three days to of the 18th through 20th of february this is work that can only occur in dry weather. get washed out and that the concern that's why he they are coming up with these other plans. take a look at the bridge we are talking about. other planned shutdowns in 2007 and 2009 went smoothly they took place over labor day weekend when there was no rain. caltrans needs to close the westbound lanes so crews can reconfigure the roadway and work on the lanes taking traffic on a new detour heading into san francisco taking drivers from the toll plaza on to the bridge. the question becomes, if is rain, what happens? there is no self-respecting meteorologist who is going to hazard a guess as to what the forecast is going to be for february 1

thomas. >>> and i'm kristen sze. the 49ers are a step closer to saying good-bye to san francisco. the council approved plans for a new stadium the mayor calls a shovel in the ground. terry mcsweeney is live with the latest. >> reporter: barring a major upset the san francisco 49ers are going to be moving to santa clara in the 2014 season, 2015 at the latest. this team has been in san francisco since 1946. the council was meeting as the stadium authority and vote was unanimous, a big yes to the financing plan for the one billion dollar stadium. prep work for the 68,000 seat stadium could begin next month moving utility lines. the site is next to great america. after last night's meeting to the victors belong the sound bites. >> excited, great time to be working for the 49ers, great time to be a fan. at approval tonight is a great milestone. >> i'm not concerned. the reality is our investment as mandated by the voters hasn't gone up we have firewalled all risk so we are not on the hook the 49ers and the nfl is. >> reporter: here's the financing plan approved last night, a billion dollar stadium, 850 million dollars borrowed from the bank of america, us bank and goldman sa
