the loss of live in this crash has been very tes tesla.vernight, they posted a blog on the website. they say one of the reasons this crash was so severe is the safety barrier known as a crash attenuator was not there when the crash happened this past friday. they say this image shows what the barrier on southbound 101 at the 85 carpool flyover in mountain view looked like when the crash attenuator was in proper condition. this is what it looked like the day prior to the crash. they say these pictures come from a witness of the crash who commutes daily past this location. tesla believes it was either removed or crushed in a prior crash without being replaced. tesla says they've never seen this level of damage to a model x in any other crash. the driver, 38-year-old way hong was killed. ntsb investigators want to know if the autopilot system was ak at this vated -- activated at the time of the crash. we've put a full length to the blog post on our website, abc7news.com. reporting live in mountain view, matt keller, abc 7 news. >>> happening
