tesla, later this hour. just one more momentum name to sell off today, twitter stock taking a hit for the second day in a row today. groupon sinking and fire eye plummeting. it's not just internet momentum names feeling the pain. our traders are steve, karen, and guy. let's go straight to tesla. this is all in the context of the shares are down in the after hours. >> specifically tesla. numbers were fine. there's nothing wrong with the numbers but when momentum stocks lose their momentum, valuation matters. i think that's what's happening with tesla. i know people have $14, $15, out 2016. that may be true. here and now, the numbers they reported were not nearly enough to keep the momentum going in the stock. until you see a huge capitulation with big volume, you got to stay away from it. >> but think about it. karen touched on it in the green room. this is a stock that really hasn't taken it that hard being as though you saw the rotation out of all the bubble stocks. i feel as if tesla, after they announced

tesla and twitter before its ipo. he's unveiling his brand new valuation of alibaba for the first time. let's bring in professor of finance and master of valuation. it's great to have you with us. >> thank you. >> what's the number? >> my estimate is about $125 billion. above they bring in the case maybe $45 billion. i was surprised how much money the company makes. i think the biggest problem is already 80% of the market in bick segments. the growth has to come from the overall market growing and that puts a cap on how much they can grow. >> one of the guests said a lot of the marketplaces is not taken into consideration. some holdings could add up to $25 billion to $50 billion. is that in your number as well? >> it's understated my numbers. the other holdings -- they're pretty opaque about their holdings and that's a story in itself. because the fact they're not open and transparent is often going to be a problem in the market pricing these holdings. it's surprising they weren't more transparent given they have so m

stocks, tesla is shipping back into gear. earnings are out next week, carter will make a bold call tonight. what is this? >> of all these high flyers, tesla we think is different. let's look at the damage, this is horrendous, right? down 38. down 2003. yahoo down, one after another, year-to-date, year-to-date. then we got this, that's a real outlier, tesla outperformance. this thing is growing three times the rate of the other. let's go to technical. water important? we had a massive run of $150 off the november low. we've retraced right now exactly how. $150 off, $75 down. that retracement leads us right back at these well defined toms. in fact, here's the next chart where the line is already drawn him we have a 50% retracement of the preceding move. that's exactly what it did here. a huge move and a 50% retracement a. huge to have and a 50% retracement. here's the technical setup. we have a well defined series of higher lows, lower high, you call it a wedge, you call it what you want to ul call it. it's tension, the news is

let's check tesla stock before that report.ing a little bit of a rough day, but it is still up more than 30% over the past year. major stock averages holding onto their gains with the notable exception of the nasdaq, it has paired many of the losses down 59 points earlier today. let's get to the floor show, traders at the new york stock exchange, cme group and the nymex. there is a diversion between the dow and the s&p and the nasdaq. earlier today it went below the 50 day moving average but it bounced back. >> for the s&p, what you cited on your opening comments is the divergence between the nasdaq and the s&p and the dial, but look closely at the russell 2000. that is the one that worries me the most. that is a warning shot the equities. they have not participated in this rally. the fact the small caps are not getting in and struggling again today. liz: it is disconcerting for a lot of market experts that while we have a pretty decent rally the last couple of weeks, the russell has not participated. people are still too scare

so really three things are behind the bear case that we're seeing with tesla today. first of all, the company did say because of so many capital expenditures for this year, as much as $850 million, the company will be slightly negative free cash flow. it's also capacity constrained. they'll be delivering about 7,500 vehicles in the second quarter. could deliver more, but they don't have the battery cells to do that, and some are saying it's weak compared to what we were expecting. and then the question of the execution risk over the next three years, and that revolves around the question of the giga factory. we do know, elon musk talked about this on the conference call yesterday, they do plan to break ground as soon as next month on one of two -- at least two locations where they will be supplying battery cells and battery packs by 2017. the question is, do they have all of the partners that they need locked into commitments? we know panasonic has signed a letter of intent. what about the others who are players in that industry? and can they actually make this happe

i want to bring in my guest on tesla. he is an analyst on tesla. president of kelley blue book. -- areomberg earlier bloomberg who really is here. matt miller. is this a warning sign? >> these numbers are lower than most people had expected in terms of volume. company where the issue has been constrained in production. they should be doing better. >> why would you have expected better if you knew that they were facing constraints with battery supply? that was real public -- well-publicized. we did not expect them to do better than what they produced last quarter. they did a little worse. that was unexpected. they got 1000 cars on a boat to china right now. isn't this in-line? it is much better on the profit side. >> they have typically beaten what they would deliver and produce. if you go by that trend, it is reasonable to expect them to do better. i have not heard with the profit numbers were. if you can share that with me, i will be happy to listen. >> it was $.12. thatey are still saying they are on track to deliver 35,000 tesla cars by the end
