let's get to earnings and after the bell, tesla reported 3rd quarter loss which is the biggest for tesla in ten quarters and is on costs relating back to the launch of its model x. it's cross over back in september. however investors are cheering tesla's promise to ramp up production in the future following the strong roll out of the model x. tesla is also naming a new cfo. the former google finance executive jason wheeler is stepping in. jumping some 9% in after hours. also trades in germany as well. so we're up close to similar levels, up from close to 7%. staying with transport and autos, volkswagen and porsche shares are back into the red today. being heavily sold down. for the first time, now petrol cars have been dragged into the scandal. announcing 800,000 vehicles have been effected by another problem involving carbon dioxide emissions this time. and this could lead up to a 2 billion euro charge for volkswagen. the issue is another headache of course for volkswagen. it adds to the on going defeat device investigation which involves up to 11 million vehicles. it was made by an int

scarlet: do any of these have tesla? has a 2%he carz weight against tesla. go is interesting. the etf's with the highest in tesla are the alternative energy etf's. the global alternative energy has a 9% waiting to tesla. over the past three years, this etf is up 80%. tesla accounts for 35% of that performance. i've never seen one stock have such a big effect on etf. if tesla is in the etf, that's good. alix: what are the flows like for that? one of just go by tesla? >> you do get other alternative energy stocks. it depends. gex is not a tesla play but ends up being one. ,et's say tesla goes down 700% down 90%, this would dilute that problem. when something is going great, you want a single stock route but the diverse projects you if the opposite happens. bitcoin has been on a bit of a tear the past couple of days. is there an etf that allows us to cash in on that? >> no. there has been a lot of misinformation out there. registrationetf in , the bitcoin trust. it has the ticker coin. the whole thing is ready to go. they are doing in the real way, tc approval.

tesla is a 2026 story. melissa: sure. darius, how does that make you feel about the stock right now? >> the stock should make series of higher highs and lower lows. if you think about it, most of the stocks in the russell 3,000, 93% of the u.s. equity market are crashing from year-to-date peak. tesla is not unlike that stock. as revenue, earnings growth slows stocks go down. it is not very complicated. melissa: gary, they're moving faster than expected on the gigafactory, what do you think of that? >> that will be important. that are batteries they sell so the storage market. they need the batteries to launch model 3 on time. they need a lot of volume if they're making 500,000 of those a year like they claim they will. melissa: we'll leave it there. david, oil ending up the day nearly 4% on concerns about outlook of india and brazil. let's go to larry levin at cme. larry, is this a blip or long-term move up? >> a blip or -- david, i would have to call it a blip, if you have to pick one or other. we'll tradebove $ level on

here's the delivery guidance from tesla.fourth quarter the company plans to deliver between 17,000 and 19,000 vehicles. almost all of those will be model s, but increasingly there are more model x models coming on. that means for 2015 they will deliver at least 50,000 and perhaps as many as 52,000 vehicles. there are some challenges when it comes to model x production. they talked about that yesterday on the conference call. there were also questions about tesla's autopilot and this technology that we saw roll out within the last couple of weeks. remember, we were in new york testing it. elan musk said on the krchts call they've had positive results from those using the technology. no accidents due to autopilot. in terms of the future and when we might see autonomous drive vehicles, here's what musk had to say on the conference call last night. >> all cars will go fully autonomous in long-term. i think it will be quite unusual to see cars that don't have full autonomy, let's say, before new car production in the 15 to 20 yea
