a tough day for tesla. ceo elon musk is going head to head with the sec in court let's get to phil lebeau for all of the details hey, phil. >> melissa, while it may have been a rough day for elon musk in terms of tesla shares and how they were beaten down in q1 deliveries and this appearance in court went about as well as could be expected for him. short of being held in contempt of court, it was pretty clear in the course of an hour and a half that the judge was zeroing in on the question of whether or not the agreement between the sec, elon musk and tesla when it comes to overseeing and approving his financial communications, his tweets if it was too vague and as a result, that's something that should be worked out between the two parties. so at the end of the hour and a half judge nathan said three words. work this out and then she ordered the attorneys for the sec, the attorneys for elon musk to spend two weeks and get together at least for one hour during the two weeks and see if they can modify the se

investors have been beating up on tesla. is this a turnaround story for tesla, robo taxis? cheryl: okay. >> i have to say, he kind of borrowed a playbook from our president who tends to start to make news over here so you don't look over here. the reality is that the tesla 3 hasn't caught on the way they hoped, they haven't come out with the price point that makes it super afford aable for most people and they misplayed it. people love the suvs. the wealthy people have gotten their sexy tesla s' and x's. he's like the best p.t. barnum in terms of knowing how to do this. there's only so much you can do. lauren: or a regular car salesman. robert gray in that report gave us some of the negative analyst comments on this. an opinion column in market watch, this is the quote, elon musk is just another car salesman, meaning he'll say whatever it takes to sell you more cars. are we buying what he's selling, whether it's the model 3 or the futuristic versions. >> it took apple -- apple is not the first one to make an mp3 player but they made the ipod, that's what made it so amazing.

well if you look at tesla you have to consider that this company is facing a huge debt load and we do not have any official hundred numbers yet but some wall street analysts are expecting that tesla could get about five hundred million dollars from chrysler for that deal so that is money that certainly can they use and then it is a controversial topic we do have emission trading if you look at their big industrial corporations especially in europe so that's the big debate actually companies with those higher costs and so it is not that it does not come to a price for fear of chrysler easier so that. it was facing this higher cost that companies actually might consider to produce less emissions so it's a it's a tricky and very controversial topic at this point but if you look at few of chrysler and ford tesla at least business wise there seems to be a win win situation a balancing act for a fee at chrysler and tesla thank you very much and carter on wall street and it's all eyes on libya as of the continued unrest threatens to reduce oil output on the world market the threat of supply
