the texas house couldn't pass anything. ocrats were still holding out, still trying to work that strategy as of tonight. but a handful of them had to return over the last few days. today, three more house democrats, all from houston, broke ranks and went back and that was apparently enough to restore the quorum. once they got the quorum back, right after gathering in the first session in weeks, texas republicans sent a series of bill to committee, got them working again, the bills include their anti voting rights bill. now, democrats as we've been reporting, they tried to stop the anti-voting rights bill in the senate, in the texas senate, with one democrats all night, 50 now talking filibuster. but after she made it through 15 hours of that, republicans still passed moments after her filibuster ended. on the house side of the texas state capital, they stopped it by denying the quorum, with all of them going to d.c.. that did work for weeks to slow things down, but now, as of tonight, that's over. the bill has already been s

houses. and we know the states are not going to stop. texas and georgia and arizona are not going to stop.nd so what now is needed is congressional action. and so i'm really grateful we are discussing this in relation to the march tomorrow. because that's what this is about. keeping pressure on congress for federal action to preserve voting rights, to protect our elections, to make sure that black, latino, aapi, indigenous communities do not have the systemic barriers to the polls. when we call out these targeted, intentionally discriminatory practices for what they are, as in racist, this is the reaction we get. that's why it is important for congress to act, make sure our general right to vote is protected, especially for historically disenfranchised communities. >> you have senators baldwin and klobuchar saying they are now optimistic that federal legislation can move. what do they know that we don't know? >> i don't know what they know that we don't know. but i wish they would get the backbone of lone star democrats, who have made tremendous sacrifices without getting any help from was

what we know is this morning those 52 civil arrest warrants signed by the texas house speaker will beill unclear. all of this unfolded last night just hours after that texas supreme court, which is all controlled by republicans, overturned a democratic district court judge's ruling that would have made it -- it would have blocked them from being able to arrest or serve these warrants on those members. now, this is not the first time that the republican members of the house have voted to send law enforcement after their democratic colleagues in an effort to force them to come to the house so they can have quorum and do legislative business. they did the same thing in july. the difference here is that those warrants are only -- they only have jurisdiction within the state of texas. last month, all of those democrats were in washington, d.c., or at least out of the state. right now several of them have returned to the lone star state, many of them under the belief that they were going to be protected by that temporary restraining order. now, there are still roughly two dozen or so that a
