community, but actually from military installations in georgia, louisiana, oklahoma, hawaii, kansas, alabama, delaware, texas, north korea, colorado, florida, nevada, virginia and california. i'm sure that other military institutions, if given the requirement, would have had some similar concerns. the reason why we see banks closing is because of an inadvertent fair market value issue addressed in leasing that credit unions do not face. and this is not a credit union versus banking issue. this is really a leasing thing that has happened. for example, you have a square foot -- 2,000 square foot required space at ft. benning, georgia, that cost $7800 a month to rent, because they assess the square foot of market value of big banks in atlanta, georgia, and they are put on the same standard. so at ft. benning, as well as many other installations, they cannot conduct these operations, so they close the banks. this amendment will provide a lot of good things to our service members. those veterans that are here on the committee, obviously know the value of having banks on installations. we see a continued bleedout
