tech rallying despite the fact interest rates are up. meta platforms, not much change, $0.39. the state of texas is suing meadow. recognition technology violates privacy protections for personal, biometric data. a lawsuit by ken paxton who has been on the show regularly asking for civil penalties in the hundreds of billions of dollars. the suit says the capture of facial geometry and photographs that users uploaded resulted in tens of millions of violations of texas law accusing facebook of secretly harvesting those photos and videos words corporate profit for more than 20 years which is prohibited under texas law without consent. they say the claims are without merit adding that before the facial recognition system was shutdown users always had the option not to provide consent. this issue heading to court. stuart: how do you not provide consent? you have to read the fine print. we are back, alexandria ocasio cortez blaming rising crime on ending the child tax credit. watch this again. >> the child tax credit just ran out monday summer 31, people are stealing baby formula. we want to talk about people that are

big tech frequently introduces innovations to degrade the quality of competing products and services. let me offer a concrete example from the texas v. google complaint. google uses its power in the online digital advertising marketplace to force publishers to use google's exchange which charges extremely high transaction fees. these fees hurt publishers' revenue so publishers develop some code to allow them to reduce fees and route their inventory to multiple exchanges. google was upset by this and called it an existential threat so they introduced a series of innovations to make it slower and harder for publishers to use competing exchanges. in short, google introduced numerous innovations for the expressed purpose and result of excluding competition. let me close by saying that one certainly has the impression that there is a growing bipartisan consensus that big tech companies have abused their market power in excluding innovation and that something must be done about it. that is reflected in various lawsuits filed and prosecuted by the trump and biden administrations as well as almost every state attorney general. it is also

tech jobs to many of my constituents. indeed, this wave of investment is due in large part to the leadership and is demonstrated by dallas college and north-central texasncil of government and the dallas regional chamber. the department of transportation and public safety and dallas college has been the leader in creating the workforce development at the community college. focus on the future of transportation in part fueled by $1.5 million granted to develop the curriculum. the atv and transportation technology through a grant. however, although the technology has potential to provide benefits, serious questions remain. like many of my colleagues, i'm concerned about the issues related to safety and want to make sure a strong federal safety framework is enacted and adhered to. additionally, as we go forward i believe that the congress and industry should incorporate priorities to address the workforce needs by instilling policies that mitigate both job losses and any potential wage decreases. and lastly i urge the industries to invest in the creation of high-quality jobs for those who may face displacement. now, we have a lot of traffic and trade and
