we're now joined by carrie chavez, a political scientist from texas tech university, and a research fellow with the modern war institute at west point. so months ago has repeatedly been the target of grown attacks in recent months. what do we know about the weapons being used to carry out these attacks? it's unclear are the 3 involved in the locker region attack today. although given the range and the payload damage, we can probably speculate, but there are tens of models that use in this course. of action before, maybe the huge a 22 or the chinese made moving 5. and i seen that because overnight and around the same time 25 drones were down approaching crimea. c and there's no video of images of either other than the implosion in an aftermath, but they're for speculation of the prime interest. and that they were the moving 5 direction of an indication of where these drones are being launch from. are they milan from ukrainian territory or the immersion from somewhere within the russian borders? assuming they were the heavier long range drones, like those i just named they were likely lives

the nature conservancy which seeks to combat climate change and distinguished professor at texas tech universityank you for joining us on this. what is happening here? what is causing these record-breaking temperatures? >> well, what we're seeing is our summer weather as we have always had on top of a long-term warming trend. the planet is now warmer than anytime in human history and when you add on top of that warming trend our natural variability, we are getting increasing risk of record-breaking temperatures that are putting us all at risk. >> what are, as you say, increasing risks? what are the long-term impacts here because of these rising temperatures? not only in the air, but in the ocean. >> so, this is all caused by our heat trapping gas emissions. when we burn coal, gas and oil, in our cars, when we cut down trees, it provides heat trapping gases that are building up in the atmosphere, wrapping an extra blanket of carbon pollution around the planet. and what that is doing is it is loading the weather dice against us. many people refer to this as global warming, but i prefer to call it
