thanh truong is in virginia beach for us. that is the good news. three people they said were missing, we now know they're okay. >> reporter: that's right. and we're expecting a briefing from the navy sometime this afternoon. we're hoping to learn more new details about what actually led up to the crash and what actually caused the crash. an official cause probably won't be coming until a few more weeks here. on the ground here, as you'd mentioned, the firefighters have finished their search. they basically said that as of this point everybody that's in the impact zone living in and around that area are safe and sound and accounted for. and on the eve of easter, many of these people living around here say it's nothing short of a miracle that no one was killed in this disaster. many of them watched in horror oz the f/a-18 was coming down, dumping fuel in the courtyard at the apartment complex. that area is basically a senior living complex. you can imagine a lot of people were in their homes, in their apartments when this happened. we spoke with one

nbc's thanh truong is with the latest. >> reporter: the man who last saw kelli bordeaux is a registered sex offender. he'll be in court today for charges unrelated to this case. police say he's not a person of interest in bordeaux's disappearance and he is cooperating with the investigation, giving a detailed account of the night bordeaux seemingly vanished. it's now day nine in the search for 23-year-old kelli bordeaux. an army medic based at ft. bragg. >> my wife went missing last weekend. >> reporter: over the weekend bordeaux's husband and brother went door-to-door posting flyers. bordeaux was last seen singing karaoke and drinking at this local bar. about a mile away, a k-9 search team carefully combed bordeaux's apartment complex. >> we're here in the hopes that we can find evidence that will help the fayetteville police department find kelly li. >> reporter: but no new leads. police say this is still an active missing person's case but admit they have grave concerns about bordeaux's safety. so far most of the details leading up to bordeaux's disappearance have come from nicolas h

thanh truong joins us from the crash site. thanh? >> reporter: good morning. it is a good morning indeed. the firefighters say there are no missing persons from the crash zone. they had three people unaccounted for last night and it could be due to the fact that this is a holiday weekend and they may be traveling. this f-15 hornet crashed into basically senior citizens area. many were around the area but now they have found all the people that live in and around that crash zone, so at this point they're happy to say there are no missing persons and it's nothing short of a miracle, they say, when that fighter jet crashed into the apartment complex. you can see those fiery pictures there. they say this is an amazing fact that nobody was killed. four people on the ground were injured. they suffered minor injured. the pilot did manage to safely eject and we're getting stories of heroism coming out of here. many neighbors watching this in horror as the fighter jet went down instantaneously had to be transformed into rescuers. one group of neighbors ran into a burni
