as for the affordable unit, just to bring it to an affordable rate of 120% a.m.i. ou have the discretion to actually add these things if you don't want to send it back to the commission. but there definitely was an error and what was stated by the project sponsor as affordability for p.d.r. and the commissioners did not have all the information we know from working with other developers and from being at the commission all the time that they would have asked the project sponsor to do better. and the reason this came back and was continued several times, the commissioners scent it back twice because a project sponsor was not working with the community and the project was terrible and they were not happy with it. it was continued several times. the rest of the times by the project sponsor. and the community did not ask to have a continued and we tried repeatedly to meet with them and to work out an agreement. we often get very long term leases of 50 years. we've gotten p.d.r. space for one dollar and we are not asking a a lot of this developer. thank you. >> excuse me

this is to commemorate another 120 100% affordable units in san francisco. with the unit right next to it, this is 190 affordable units here in the city and county of san francisco. it is such a beautiful day to cut the ribbon on the property, but also to honor a person who fought for low-income tax credits dating back to the 1980's. natalie was an incredible advocate, and i see many of you wearing buttons. you had the opportunity to work with her on creative solutions for housing affordable not just in san francisco but throughout the state of california. we know this is not just a battle to make sure that we have affordable housing in san francisco, we need to make sure that we have affordable housing throughout the state of california and look at our dated policies that have existed since the 1960's and make changes. it's why i was so proud to lead the effort around neighborhood preference legislation, so that 40% of all new developments would go to the people who actually live in that community first to avoid displacement of the existing residents. on the list, 519 ellis shouldn't be on the list, but as to those couple of remaining projects, yeah, you're talking about a total of eight more units of affordable housing. i suspect those projects will be built. i mean, the 95-unit project on 7th street, if it's family owned, their basis in the property is probably pretty low, but, you know, i'm happy to do it -- take a totally different approach to this, which is we can stress test each and every one of these things. having said that, i think we came up with a pretty good compromise, and then with all respect to the representative of the mayor's office, generally the way this works is when the supervisors say last week, hey, city attorney, we want you to craft some amendments, generally we work collaboratively in the intervening week, and you don't go and dump your own amendments on this committee, particularly amendments that were not in any way discussed with the supervisors who were indicating that we wanted to work together, compromise, and that we were drafting some amendments. that's just the way it works here, and that's the way it's worked here for the almost 20 years that i've been on
